Knockback is the Super Monkey's path 3 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. This upgrade makes the Super Monkey's projectiles apply a knockback effect for 0.5 seconds to Bloons it damages. While under the knockback effect, MOAB-Class Bloons move at 70% speed, Ceramic and Lead Bloons move at 40% speed, and other non-MOAB-Class Bloons move backwards at 25% speed. The knockback effect does not affect BADs or Boss Bloons.

Crosspathing with Tech Terror or The Anti-Bloon also grants their ability the knockback effect on activation.

Strategy

Knockback is the crosspath that adds utility for Super Monkey attack, which is useful in both mid game and late game. This is the preferred crosspath for Tech Terror. On its own, the upgrade's cost is a bit steep for what it does, but can be bought early to help with Round 40 MOAB.

  •   Knockback for Lead, Ceramic, and Fortified reduced ― ×0 → ×0.4
0-3-1, 0-4-1, 0-5-1
  •   Second arm applies more knockback to Lead, Ceramic, and Fortified (bug)
    •   Overall knockback is the same as in previous versions for the second arm; the nerf to Knockback in this update only affects the first arm
0-3-1, 0-4-1, 0-5-1
  •   Alternate arm no longer has a stronger knockback effect on Leads and Ceramics (bug fix)
“
We want the base Super Monkey to feel like more of a ‘weak for the cost’ stepping stone into T3s that feel more like T4s; but the base upgrade really does feel very outdated on this idea, and big crosspath problems exist due to this so we are moving some attack speed out from 2xx into the base upgrade.
— Update notes
”
  •   Attack cooldown reduced ― 0.06s → 0.045s (attack speed increased by 33.33%)
    • Note: Plasma Blasts attack cooldown remains 0.03s
“
We’ve wanted to try out this idea for a while, and finally thought why not. It seemed fun to test with, so we hope people can find some fun use for it in challenges.
— Update notes
”
0-4-1, 0-5-1
  •   Knockback now causes the ability to knock back any surviving Bloons
0-4-1, 0-5-1
  •   Ability: No longer knocks Bloons forward in some cases (bug fix)
“
Super Monkey projectiles already travel most the map length so that total distance is being reduced and adding back via the range-focused middle crosspath.
— Update notes
”
  •   Projectile speed reduced ― 280 → 200
    • Note: Epic Range unchanged at 350
“
Super Monkey's base projectile speed is increasing slightly to help early tiers keep up, while keeping x2x Epic Range unchanged.
— Update notes
”
  •   Projectile speed increased ― 200 units/s → 250 units/s
    • Note: Projectile lifespan unchanged. Projectile speed increases from X-2-X Epic Range crosspath unchanged
