Hydra Rocket Pods is the Dartling Gunner's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. Instead of darts, it fires missiles that produce multiple explosions that damage all Bloon types. Each missile does zero damage and consumes 2 pierce every time it hits a new target, creating an explosion that deals 2 damage, has 6 pierce (8 with 0-3-2), and 8 blast radius (12 with 0-3-2). The missile itself has 6 pierce, creating explosions up to 3 times, and can create an extra explosion if it has fractional pierce. Both the missile and explosions can gain extra pierce, allowing missiles to explode more times.

When crosspathed with Laser Shock, the shock only is applied by the missile, and does not do extra shocked damage. Powerful Darts increases pierce of both missiles and explosions by +2, essentially adding an extra explosion plus an extra 2 pierce per explosion, plus increased blast radius.

Hydra Rocket Pods excels at breaking crowds of Bloons, especially given its extreme buffability and lack of damage type weaknesses, and can handle early MOABs and Ceramic children. When given Stronger Stimulant, it can reliably handle hyperdense bloons, and has a decent transition to Rocket Storm. While it's decent in Races, Hydra stands out in Contested Territory, notably CT Least Tiers as an efficient T3 that carries the mid-game.

Hydra Rocket Pods does not need crosspaths to function optimally. 1-3-0 is necessary for high-micro use, which demands accuracy. 2-3-0 lacks bonus shocked damage, making it not necessary. 0-3-2 is preferred in Races, which demand pierce.
