Hydra Rocket Pods is the Dartling Gunner's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. Instead of darts, it fires missiles that produce multiple explosions. Each missile does zero damage and consumes 2 pierce every time it hits a new target, creating an explosion that deals 2 damage, has 6 pierce (8 with 0-3-2), and 8 blast radius (12 with 0-3-2). The missile itself has 6 pierce, creating explosions up to 3 times, and can create an extra explosion if it has fractional pierce. Both the missile and explosions can gain extra pierce, allowing missiles to explode more times.
When crosspathed with Laser Shock, the shock only is applied by the missile, and does not do extra shocked damage. Powerful Darts increases pierce of both missiles and explosions by +2, essentially adding an extra explosion plus an extra 2 pierce per explosion, plus increased blast radius.

Since Version 48.0's damage buff, Hydra Rocket Pods excels at ripping apart crowds of bloons, especially given its extreme buffability and lack of damage type weaknesses, but still often too expensive for general usage, though when given Stronger Stimulant it can reliably handle hyperdense bloons, and has a decent transition to Rocket Storm. While it's decent in Race Events, Hydra stands out in CT for its capability to handle early MOABs and Ceramic children, and especially in CT Least Tiers, which for its tier requires no extra relics to damage all bloon types while still offering solid bloon damage. Its high buffability also makes Hydra stand out in Rogue Legends, particularly against groups of DDTs.
Hydra Rocket Pods does not necessarily need crosspaths to function optimally. However, the 0-3-2 is often more used despite its lack of accuracy, due to the large pierce bonus compared to the shock effect, which is less functional with this upgrade. 2-3-0 is still a decent choice for general situations, though only its missile projectile applies Laser Shock.
