The Blazing Sun is the Desperado's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It increases the damage of its pistol shots from 5 to 20, +40 to Ceramics, and reduces the cooldown between bursts from 1.2 seconds to 0.3 seconds. It also gains a special overheat mechanic where its attack speed reduces by 1% each time it fires a bullet, maxing out at 75 shots (resulting in the same cooldown as the tier 4). However, once it reaches 55 shots, each shot generates an area of effect, with 5 pierce and 6 radius, that sets all non-Purple Bloons on fire. The area of effect deals no damage, but the fire damage over time deals 50 damage every 1.5 seconds for 12.05 seconds. It resets if it is unable to attack for 0.88 seconds.[fn 1]

Coming in at less than $20k, decent damage and high speed but lacking pierce and the lack of buffability, this upgrade serves a similar purpose to the Elite Defender, offering mid-late game single target DPS at an affordable price, though like the Defender, this can fall off late game due to the amount of MOAB-Class Bloons that spawn. As such, it is recommended to use alongside a cleanup hero such as Obyn Greenfoot to catch Ceramics that slip by.
