Re-Freeze is the Ice Monkey's path 3 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It allows the Ice Monkey to target and damage frozen Bloons and reapply the freeze effect to them on each hit. It does not affect Embrittlement or Super Brittle, which can target and affect frozen Bloons by default.

This upgrade is the only way for the Ice Monkey's other crosspaths to target and pop frozen Bloons. Because its inability to pop frozen Bloons is not damage type-based, it cannot be overridden by MIB.

Re-Freeze is good against the Round 21-30 Golden Bloon when bought with Enhanced Freeze. However, its inability to perma-freeze Ceramic Bloons, even with Enhanced Freeze and Deep Freeze, means that it is otherwise only recommended as a crosspath for Tier 3+ Ice Monkeys.

Re-Freeze is recommended for Arctic Wind, allowing it to perma-freeze Ceramics. It is only recommended for Snowstorm and Absolute Zero when they have support for both Camos and Leads. Re-Freeze is not useful for Embrittlement and Super Brittle, due to Bloons frozen by them lacking the frozen property, unless they are interacting with other Ice Monkeys. For Ice Shards, Re-Freeze is not recommended.

  • Buff Pierce increased ― 30 → 40
  • Buff Can now pop Lead Bloons when buffed by Acidic Mixture Dip (bug fix)
Additionally some smaller price nerfs have been made along the lower tiers of bottom path as each of these upgrades has been standing out a little much.
— Update notes
  • Nerf Upgrade cost increased ― $200 → $225
    • Nerf Overall cost increased by $100 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
4-0-2, 5-0-2
  • Buff Larger Radius no longer prevents the Ice Monkey from stacking its debuffs (bug fix)
Ice Monkey base pierce is too high, very easily countering large numbers of strong Bloons early, mid or late in the game for small investment, leading to very low tiers of ice monkey (below t3) being highly effective spam options over upgrading your ice. We are reworking some of this base pierce to require crosspath investment and buffing the damage Ice 3xx Ice Shards to compensate for some of its reduced pierce.
— Update notes
  • Nerf Pierce reduced ― 40 → 30
    • Note: Pierce with Deep Freeze is unchanged
Lowest tiers of ice monkey are far too effective for their cost against ceramics, with this scaling well all the way to round 100, we feel like ice duration against ceramics needs to be reduced to counter this but for now this reduction will only apply until T3.
— Update notes
  • Buff Resolved a number of cases of the Refreeze crosspath not re-freezing bloons when dealing certain numbers of damage (bug fix)
  • Nerf Freeze duration: reduced by 50% on ceramics
    • Note: Tier 3s and above unaffected
We’re happier with more recent freeze changes succeeding in some of the intentions of older nerfs, given the base tower value in races being hit far more than intended we’re going back over the pierce for Ice Monkey base & middle crosspath.
— Update notes
  • Buff Pierce increased ― 30 → 40
Ice Monkey value is limited at low levels where quick & spaced Bloons are the main trouble, so the cost for many low tier upgrades is moving up to higher tiers instead.
— Update notes
  • Buff Upgrade cost reduced ― $225 → $200
    • Buff Overall cost reduced by $150 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
  • Buff Can now be placed on water
0-5-2
  • Buff Arctic Wind: Can slow down small Bloons when crosspathed again (bug fix)
