Gwendolin is a Hero in Bloons TD 6. She unlocks upon reaching level 14.
Gwendolin attacks by shooting fireballs at Bloons from her flamethrower. Initially, each flame deals 1 damage to up to 2 Bloons and she fires every 0.5 seconds with a range of 38 units. Almost every level improves her flame attack. None of her attacks can pop Purple Bloons without support until she reaches level 16, and her main attack cannot target Camo Bloons but all of her activated abilities can affect Camo.
- Starting at level 4, she gains a passively generating Heat It Up attack that is triggered every 40 shots from her flamethrower, creating a high-pierce radial fire attack that pops Bloons and additionally applies a temporary buff to other nearby towers, giving them +1 pierce and the ability to pop frozen and Lead Bloons. Starting at level 17, the buff grants additional damage to all Bloons, especially Lead Bloons.
- Starting at level 5, she grants extra attack speed and projectile radius for Ring of Fire, Dragon's Breath, and Signal Flare, which is improved at level 18.
- She has two Activated Abilities:
- Cocktail of Fire (level 3) — Drops a cocktail onto a targeted location within her range, creating a blaze (similar to Wall of Fire) that constantly damages non-Purple Bloons that pass through it.
- Firestorm (level 10) — Damages and burns all non-Purple Bloons on screen and immediately applies a Heat It Up effect to all other towers on the screen.
Mechanics
[edit | edit source]Main attack
[edit | edit source]Gwendolin's main attack is a flamethrower that shoots flame projectiles. It deals 1 Fire-type damage and has 2 pierce, with an attack cooldown of 0.5 seconds and a range of 38 units.
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| 2 | Pierce increases to 3. |
| 5 | Pierce increases to 4. |
| 6 | Projectiles inflict damage over time that deals 1 Fire-type damage every 1.5 seconds for up to 3.1 seconds. |
| 8 | Now shoots two projectiles at a time in parallel. |
| 9 | Damage increases to 2. Starting at this level, each level increases burn damage per tick by 1 and duration by 1 second. At level 9, the damage per tick is 2 and duration is 4 seconds, and at level 20 it maxes out at 13 damage per tick with a 15 second duration. |
| 11 | Range increases to 41. |
| 12 | Attack cooldown reduces to 0.4 seconds, effectively increasing attack speed by 25%. |
| 13 | Pierce increases from 4 to 8. Projectile speed increases to 250 units per second, and projectile lifespan increases to 1.25 seconds. |
| 15 | Attack cooldown reduces to 0.3 seconds, effectively increasing attack speed by ~33%. |
| 16 | Damage type changes to Normal, allowing it to damage Purple Bloons. |
| 18 | Attack cooldown reduces to 0.15 seconds, effectively doubling attack speed. |
| 19 | Now shoots three projectiles at a time in parallel. |
Heat It Up
[edit | edit source]
Heat It Up unlocks at level 4. It is a burst of fire that damages nearby Bloons and buffs nearby towers (but not Gwendolin herself). The attack triggers at Gwendolin's position every 40 shots or 1.5 seconds after it last triggered, whichever takes longer. Both the fire burst and buff have a radius of 38 units, which cannot be increased by external range buffs.
- The fire burst has 100 pierce, deals 3 Fire-type damage, and ignores line of sight blockers.
- The buff gives towers +1 pierce and allows them to pop Lead Bloons and frozen Bloons, and lasts for 8 seconds.
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| 7 | Radius increases to 43 units. |
| 11 | Radius increases to 46 units. |
| 12 | Damage of the fire burst increases to 10. |
| 15 | Damage of the fire burst increases to 20. |
| 16 | Damage type of the fire burst changes to Normal. |
| 17 | Buff now also grants +1 damage, plus an additional +2 damage to Lead Bloons. |
| 18 | Damage of the fire burst increases to 30. |
Pyrotechnics Expert
[edit | edit source]
Pyrotechnics Expert[1] unlocks at level 5. It applies a buff to all Tack Shooters upgraded to Ring of Fire and above (except Crucible of Steel and Flame), Mortar Monkeys upgraded to Signal Flare and above, and Wizard Monkeys upgraded to Dragon's Breath and above (except Magus Perfectus) on-screen. It reduces attack cooldown and increases projectile radius by 10%. Starting at level 18, it increases to 20%.
Abilities
[edit | edit source]Cocktail of Fire
[edit | edit source]
Cocktail of Fire unlocks at level 3. It causes Gwendolin to throw a molotov cocktail on the track, creating a Wall of Fire-like projectile that rapidly damages Bloons that pass through it. It can damage Camo Bloons even if Gwendolin does not have Camo detection. The player can set the cocktail's landing point to anywhere within Gwendolin's range using the targeting option, even behind line of sight blockers. It deals 1 Fire-type damage every 0.2 seconds, hitting up to 20 Bloons at a time in a 15-unit radius each tick, and lasts for 12 seconds or until destroyed on contact with an immune Bloon. The ability has a 30-second cooldown.
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| 7 | Deals damage every 0.1 seconds and can hit up to 40 Bloons per tick. Radius of the fire wall increases to 20. |
| 11 | Can hit up to 60 Bloons per tick. Targeting range increases slightly. |
| 14 | Damage per tick increases to 2. Now applies a damage over time effect to MOAB-Class Bloons that deals 5 damage every second for 10 seconds. |
| 16 | Damage type changes to Normal (for both the wall of fire and the damage over time). |
| 20 | Damage per tick to Bloons touching the wall of fire increases to 5. Burn debuff damage per tick to MOAB-Class Bloons increases to 8. |
Firestorm
[edit | edit source]
Firestorm unlocks at level 10. It instantly deals Fire-type damage to all Bloons on-screen, applies Fire-type damage over time to affected Bloons, and applies the Heat It Up buff to all towers on-screen (with the same stat buffs and duration as the main attack's Heat It Up at Gwendolin's current level). It can damage Camo Bloons even if Gwendolin does not have Camo detection, and has separate properties for regular Bloons and MOAB-Class Bloons: regular Bloons take 5 damage initially and 2 damage every 0.5 seconds for 8 seconds, while MOAB-Class Bloons take 20 damage initially and 15 damage every second for 8 seconds. The ability has a 60-second cooldown.
| Level | Effect |
|---|---|
| 16 | Damage type changes to Normal (for both the initial hit and the damage over time). Damage over time duration increases to 10.4 seconds. Burn damage per tick increases to 5 for regular Bloons and 20 for MOAB-class. |
| 20 | Initial damage increases to 10 for regular Bloons and 50 for MOAB-class. Burn damage per tick increases to 10 for regular Bloons and 30 for MOAB-class. |

Gwendolin is best used in strategies that need consistent lead-popping against DDTs and do generally low base damage and attack quickly, to benefit most from her late-game Heat It Up buffs, and those that struggle to pop large groups of non-Purple Bloons, especially in the mid-game as her abilities are strong counters to the Ceramic rushes on Rounds 63, 76, and 78. Her flat pierce buff is most effective for towers with high damage but low pierce attacks, such as Inferno Ring (which also benefits from her Pyrotechnics Expert passive). It is recommended to position Gwendolin close to a cluster of defenses, preferably a bit ahead of the main damage dealer(s) to ensure she triggers Heat It Up often.
