It increases the [[damage]] of Monkey Sub's main darts from 1 to 2, and increases their [[MOAB-Class damage]] from +0 to +2. This upgrade also increases the [[MOAB-Class damage]] of [[Airburst Darts (BTD6)|airburst projectiles]] from +0 to +1, and increases their [[pierce]] from 2 to 5.

Armor Piercing Darts is a decent T4 for carrying the mid-game when paired with [[Berserker Brew (BTD6)|Berserker Brew]], helping save up for more effective T5's later on. Its relatively high MOAB damage, improved base pierce, and multiple projectiles improve its reliability at damaging bloons quickly. However, it still has low base damage to non-blimps despite its moderate attack speed, which could disrupt strategies that rely on stalling bloons or dealing precise damage to groups of bloons.

Armor Piercing Darts is a fair candidate for [[Sub Commander (BTD6)|Sub Commander]] armies on maps that utilize [[Advanced Intel (BTD6)|Advanced Intel]] for long-ranged coverage, however the 0-3-2 [[Ballistic Missile (BTD6)|Ballistic Missile]] is usually preferred for better localized damage.

 

The best crosspath for Armor Piercing Darts is with Advanced Intel, to target bloons further around the map, and has greater synergy with external buffs. 0-1-4 and 0-2-4 improve its local-ranged damage, but often not needed unless desperate for DDT damage with Subs.
