{{Strategy needed|More of actual use cases of Acid Pools}}
The Acid Pool upgrade attempts to make Alchemist function as a more consistent offensive tower, but its weak power and lack of synergy to build off of make the upgrade almost useless. Even with several pools built up in a row, the same 5 Bloons will trigger all of them and limit its ability to spread the potion debuff. It provides no benefits for top or middle path Alchemists, and is unrelated to the rest of the bottom path.
The benefits of Acid Pool are somewhat minor, as the acid pools only slightly add more opportunities to soak bloons with acid. When used as a crosspath, Acid Pools is insignificant outside of the first two middle path upgrades. However, there is one major use case for Acid Pools: the pools from 0-2-2 help break the R40 ABR Fortified MOAB.

Since all the pools will damage the same target, Acid Pools have niche use for damaging the R40 [[Alternate Bloons Rounds]] Fortified MOAB with a 0-2-2 crosspath for massively increased damage. It is not strong enough to pop the layer by itself and at slightly higher prices are much stronger options like a 0-3-2 {{BTD6|Spike Factory}}, but at its specific price point, it is the strongest option available on long single-lane maps.<!-- This is really about it, this upgrade is very bad. -->
