Arctic Wind's frozen water is a strong asset, as Sun Temples and True Sun Gods placed on water can gain the attack speed buffs from {{B|Carrier Flagship|BTD6}} and [[Navarch of the Seas]], and more land space is opened for towers if needed. The extra land space is especially useful on [[Flooded Valley]], where Arctic Wind, when placed on Carrier Flagship, is the only option in [[CHIMPS]] to place land towers on good spots that are not blocked by the dam.
When its frozen water effect is not needed, Arctic Wind can still be used to stall {{B|Super Ceramic Bloon|BTD6}}s, but faces the issues of small range and often insufficient pierce. 0-3-2 is generally the preferred crosspath, alleviating its range issues and allowing it to perma-stall Super Ceramics.

Arctic Wind is the Ice Monkey's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6.

On top of the main attack, which loses the ceramic 50% duration penalty, it also creates an aura around itself that slows all targetable bloons inside by 40% and allows land towers to be placed on nearby water. The slow effect can be buffed with range buffs, but not the water freezing radius (which can only be increased with the Larger Radius upgrade).

Frozen water interactions

The frozen water effect has the same range as the Arctic Wind slow aura (25 without Larger Radius, 32 with Larger Radius).

The frozen water created by Arctic Wind allows new land towers to be placed on top, but it does not allow existing towers to be moved onto it, for example, using Support Chinook.

Strategy

Arctic Wind's frozen water is a strong asset, as Sun Temples and True Sun Gods placed on water can gain the attack speed buffs from Carrier Flagship and Navarch of the Seas, and more land space is opened for towers if needed. The extra land space is especially useful on Flooded Valley, where Arctic Wind, when placed on Carrier Flagship, is the only option in CHIMPS to place land towers on good spots that are not blocked by the dam.

Arctic wind felt extremely overbuffed with the slowing field going from 40 to 50%, but we like seeing the use on it go up so we want to meet halfway on that & keep the higher slow at T5. While we like the added pierce value on x2x crosspathing, the drop of pierce on xx3 feels too large now on a tower that already had quite good crosspath balance, so we want to try out removing the pierce downgrade entirely here.

Arctic Wind it feels was heavily underrated before it’s large slow aura increase, with so many players now working out how good it is and how much better an upgrade it leads into than any similar options we feel this aura needs to be reduced again although it will remain the same at T5.
