Unstable Concoction is the Alchemist's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It grants the Alchemist an additional concoction attack which can only target MOAB-Class Bloons. This attack has a cooldown of 6 seconds (4.8 seconds with 0-3-1), has 3 pierce (4 pierce with 1-3-0), and has a range of 67.5 units which is 50% larger than that the Alchemist itself.

This attack deals no direct damage, but applies an unstable effect on its targets which causes an explosion when their outer layers are popped. This explosion has 50 pierce and can damage any Bloon type, except for Camo (unless the Alchemist had Camo detection when concoction was applied). The explosion does not damage the children of the Bloon that the concoction was applied to.

The amount of damage dealt by the explosion depends on the kind of Bloon the unstable effect was applied to, which correlates to the base health of its outer layer.

Stronger Bloons use up more of the explosion's pierce when they take damage from it: MOABs and BFBs use 2, DDTs and ZOMGs use 4, and BADs use 10.

Unstable Concoction is a highly cost-effective support against dense late game rounds such as 96 and 98, however its tendency to leave massive amounts of MOABs and Ceramic Bloons behind means a powerful cleanup tower is mandatory, such as Perma-Spike and The Bloon Solver. Avoid using this tower if such cleanup is not being run, as many defenses will fail to handle the horde of weaker Bloons.

Larger Potions is the preferred crosspath, as it will result in more targets being given the unstable effect than Faster Throwing, and its main prey are the slower BFBs and ZOMGs, though Faster Throwing would be more efficient if given at least +2 pierce from buffs such as Obyn Greenfoot.
