Grape Shot is the Monkey Buccaneer's path 2 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It grants the Monkey Buccaneer an additional attack which fires 5 grapes (6 with Big Bunch) at a time, in a 90 degree spread. Grapes deal 1 damage, have 1 pierce (2 with Naval Upgrades), and have an attack cooldown of 1.3 seconds. Grapes cannot damage Lead or Frozen Bloons. Like Monkey Buccaneer's main dart attack, grapes may be fired from both sides at the same time if there are targets on both sides of it. The attack has several crosspathing perks:

• Faster Shooting increases grape fire rate by +33%
• Double Shot adds +1 grape
• Destroyer increases grape fire rate by +400%
• Aircraft Carrier changes the radial attack from its planes to front-shooting bursts of grapes
• Carrier Flagship improves the Ceramic damage and pierce of the plane's fired grapes
• Long Range increases grape spread and projectile speed increased and increases grape pierce by +1
• Crow's Nest allows grapes to hit Camo Bloons
• Favored Trades increases grape fire rate by +73.3%
• Trade Empire increases grape damage to 2 and grants bonus MOAB and ceramic damage

Strategy

Grape Shot is a strong early-game tower; its shots deal a burst of damage against both single-target and groups. It is best placed at spots surrounded by track on opposing sides, where both of its guns can activate.

At lower tiers, Long Range is used for popping groups, while Faster Shooting assists its general DPS. First-path upgrades favor Grape Shot to improve its already high buffing potential (e.g. Admiral Brickell), being the best crosspath on Destroyer but not as effective for Aircraft Carrier and Carrier Flagship. Third-path upgrades prefer Grape Shot when damage is needed.

Trivia

• Its name is a pun on real-life grapeshot, a type of ammunition consisting of several shots packed in one bag which resembles a cluster of grapes when assembled.
• According to a Ninja Kiwi blog post, the grapes used by Buccaneers are "frozen and then sharpened with cutlasses".
