Heavy Bombs is the Bomb Shooter's path 1 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It increases the blast radius of the Bomb Shooter's bombs, increases their damage by +1, and their pierce by +10. This also affects the subclusters for Cluster Bombs and its subsequent upgrades, with the pierce of the tertiary clusters of Recursive Cluster and Bomb Blitz gaining +30 pierce. Additionally Heavy Bombs increases frag damage from 1 to 2 with Frag Bombs crosspath.

Strategy

Heavy Bombs is only recommended for crosspathing with Tier 3+ Bomb Shooters, or a stepping stone to Really Big Bombs, as a standalone lower-tier Heavy Bombs is extremely weak for its cost, even with its layer-skipping potential.

Heavy Bombs is the optimal crosspath for Cluster Bombs due to the +1 damage and +10 pierce Heavy Bombs grants. Recursive Cluster prefers Heavy Bombs in Race Events and versus Elite T1 Bloonarius minions, due to greatly increased pierce, but 0-2-4's extra attack speed is more valuable elsewhere. Heavy Bombs is decent with Tier 3+ middle-path Bomb Shooters for extra pierce but should be skipped unless Primary Expertise is bought. Heavy Bombs is sub-par crosspath for Bomb Blitz as it already has reliable group-popping and has high base damage.
