Twin Guns is the Monkey Sub's path 3 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It doubles the attack speed of Monkey Sub's darts. Crosspathing with Ballistic Missile reduces the attack cooldown of its missiles by 12.5%, increasing its attack speed by ~14%, while crosspathing with Submerge and Support reduces the cooldown of its pulses by 30%, increasing its attack speed by ~42%.

Strategy
Twin Guns gives a significant DPS boost to the Sub, in addition to improved consistency, through the increased attack speed. Despite costing more than a second 0-0-0 Sub, it's very much worth upgrading to 0-0-1 in CHIMPS if planning for an early Airburst Darts, which carries the early-game. For crosspathing purposes, it is the only meaningful crosspath for Submerge and Support, recommended for Bloontonium Reactor outside of Race Events, and recommended unconditionally for Energizer. Twin Guns is also recommended for Ballistic Missile and its succeeding upgrades on maps where their base range reaches all lanes, though upgrading further to Airburst Darts is preferred for more reliable cleanup.

We have come back a number of times to add, fix & balance sub crosspathing, over years of learning though it currently feels messy and we’d like simplification. Heat-Tipped Darts doesn’t increase base sub pierce, so it feels silly to require it for maximum pierce on Submerged subs. Likewise Airburst shouldn’t be required to maximize the rate of submerged subs, instead we’d rather give people an easier way to work with the Airburst attack if they desire to upgrade to it so ‘Submerge’ is moving to a new Tower Special rather than target priority.
