Apache Prime is the Heli Pilot's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It significantly improves all of the attacks of the Apache Dartship, dealing significantly more damage and often more pierce. All of its darts are replaced by red and purple lasers.

  • The quad darts are replaced with quad lasers. These lasers have increased damage from 1 to 6 and increased pierce from 3 to 23 compared to darts. They can damage Frozen Bloons but cannot damage Lead or Purple Bloons.
  • The machine gun fires thin plasma lasers instead of darts. They increased damage from 1 to 5 and increased pierce from 7 to 11, and can damage all Bloon types except for Purple.
  • Rockets deal +15 MOAB-Class damage.
  • The razor rotor attack has its damage increased from 4 to 8 and its pierce from 20 to 40.

It is prone to chasing DDTs even with Monkey Intelligence Bureau, and falls off even harder on maps with multiple entrances and exits. Apache Prime is outclassed by T5s with a more effective saveup (e.g. Carrier Flagship) or by a T5 of similar cost with cheaper synergies (e.g. Bloon Exclusion Zone with Alchemist buffs). However, Apache Prime does pair very well with Rosalia's discount buff to minimize the saveup struggle in CHIMPS.

5-0-2 is preferred for optimal DPS as opposed to 5-2-0, whose flight speed boost is insufficient for multi-lane maps and Camo detection that is better bought elsewhere (outside of Least Tiers in Contested Territory, Odysseys, etc).

Pursuit Razor Rotors has underperformed due to distancing itself far too much, so we increased the range of this attack slightly.

Heli Pilot manages on pursuit far too easily without any need to consider Bigger Jets unless camo or downdraft is required. For more crosspath variety than just ‘camo’ we moved more of the base Heli speed out and back into Bigger Jets with an overall buff to Bigger Jets. This should allow Bigger Jets to scale a little better than other helis through early speed ramping.

Razor Rotors doesn’t synergize well with it’s own T2 and is kinda the dunce of T3 Helis

Pursuit will now interact with Patrol Points in a limited ‘pursuit between points’, with this now you will be able to make your pursuit heli stay on one side on multi-path maps without getting stuck in the middle. Razor Rotors is fairly good now, but it could still justify a little more power given the weaknesses of the expensive upgrades that it builds into.

Among technical players we’ve received feedback that the massive range of the Heli’s missiles causes problems with controlling what heli’s choose to attack & when so we’ve reduced the range of these missiles to a more reasonable number, this is still double the range of the Heli so the missiles will continue to fire first before other attacks but not quite from so far away.
