Spectre is the Monkey Ace's path 3 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It grants Monkey Ace a new attack which rapidly fires darts and bombs directly at Bloons. This new attack has a cooldown of 0.06 seconds, and alternates between firing:
Spectre retains the radial volley attack of Neva-Miss Targeting, its previous upgrade, but deals 3 damage instead of 1. Like Neva-Miss Targeting, each homing dart of the Spectre's dart volleys will decelerate if the target is not within a 20° cone of their current trajectory and accelerate if the target is within a 5° cone, allowing them to make much tighter turns in the air to avoid missing their targets. This seeking style is shared with Adora's Divine Bolts.
Front attack

The front attack consists of an alternating rapid-fire attack of homing darts and bombs. Both projectiles move in a straight line and are able to rotate towards bloons from any distance. Bombs seek bloons up to a 45° cone from its direction, and seek at 45°/second. Darts seek bloons up to a 30° cone but have infinite seeking rate. Unlike the homing darts, the darts and bombs of the front attack neither accelerate nor decelerate.
Bombs have larger hitboxes but move slower than the darts, and bombs last longer.
Spectre is an effective yet very expensive mid-game carry on many maps. Unlike its previous upgrade, Neva-Miss Targeting, Spectre's rapid attack speed limits its synergy with Berserker Brew. However, its attacks already have high enough base pierce and damage to reliably handle rounds 63, 76, and 78 on maps with reasonable track length. It falls off in the late game since it takes too many hits to destroy Super Ceramics and wastes shots chasing strays. Since the barrage always targets First, it is recommended that the Spectre flies ahead of the Bloons.
Because of its high cost, Rosalia is the preferred Hero for Spectre in CHIMPS, and on most maps the duo can save enough money to buy Flying Fortress to carry the rest of the game.
Top crosspath is preferred for higher DPS. 0-2-4, outside of challenges that require the Camo crosspath, is only beneficial on Race Events and CT Time Attack, as the Exploding Pineapple crosspath offers much more pierce on its bombs than the overall attack speed and projectile bonuses.

While Pineapples are never the star of the show, the amount of pierce they have is completely unnecessary for their usage window and has only led to balance problems for Bombing Run, specifically in races. This high amount of pierce has been more evenly spread through higher tiers & crosspath. — Update notes
In addition to this we are experimenting with adding a small amount of homing to the spectre upgrade as rapid fire missing is not the intended design. — Update notes

Now has a slight seeking effect on dart projectiles
Monkey Ace has had an overall rework to a lot of different upgrades in order to highlight the x1x Exploding Pineapples upgrade as a buff to all explosives, in addition to this Spectre has been reworked to have less base pierce but a higher damage bonus to Ceramic Bloons in order to make the new option of a pierce crosspath more viable while also allowing it to carry on better into the endgame against Super Ceramics. — Update notes

Dart: Bonus damage to ceramics increased ― +0 → +2
Note: Damage to Ceramics increased from 2 to 4
Dart: Pierce reduced ― 30 → 15
Bomb: Bonus damage to ceramics increased ― +0 → +2
More of a straight quality of life, Ace has gained a new special toggle button to allow it to turn back and fly in reverse on any selected flight pattern. — Update notes
Neva-Miss has been generally over performing for quite a cheap T3, increasing price here slightly but not carrying that increase up through higher tiers. — Update notes
”
Upgrade cost reduced ― $24,000 → $23,400
Overall cost is unchanged (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
Spectre no longer missing bonus ceramic damage on darts ― +0 → +2 (bug fix)
To help you work towards the new Ace Paragon we have reduced Spectre’s lategame ceramic weakness with improved targeting for the bomb projectiles & a large increase to their bonus Ceramic damage to help out later on, to change focus on these projectiles we have also shifted damage around for the darts to deal single target with the bombs providing ceramic AoE cleanup. — Update notes
”
Dart: damage increased ― 2 → 3
Bomb: damage reduced ― 3 → 2
Bomb: ceramic bonus increased ― 2 → 4
Darts & bombs now both have a weaker homing effect
Same as mentioned above for the flagship, we are experimenting with new homing changes for the Spectre & Flying Fortress to improve their feeling. — Update notes
Resolved an issue where reversing flight path before purchasing Centered Path would prevent the centered path target from flying in the correct direction (bug fix)
Spectre is shifting a little of the ceramic bonus around into basic all damage at the cost of reduced pierce, which should make up for lack of single target damage while also making the pierce crosspath more necessary when being used for cleanup focus. — Update notes
Neva-Miss itself is too fun and cool to be lost completely on the very next upgrade so it’s coming back to Spectre as an additional attack, as this main attack is back again 204 no longer needs to give an additional conflicting crosspath benefit. — Update notes
”
Radial 'neva-miss' attack is no longer disabled
Radial attack: Damage increased ― 1 → 3
2-0-4
Lots More Darts no longer grants +25% pierce to darts
As efforts to improve the feeling of top path Buccaneer have gone relatively well, projectile seeking has now been greatly improved for the Bottom path Ace as well. — Update notes
”
Radial darts: now use Adora's seeking mechanics, allowing them to decelerate to take much tighter turns towards targets and accelerate when targets are directly in front
[...] Neva-Miss darts max speed and homing acceleration is being increased so the projectiles are less likely to expire before meeting their target unless placement is terrible. — Update notes
”
Homing dart: Max projectile speed increased ― 180 → 350
Since Spectre works best at the edge of the map far from the entrance the radial attack can expire too early, so projectile distance has been increased. — Update notes
”
Radial dart: Lifespan increased ― 3.3333s → 5.0s
Note: Projectile distance increased from 600 units to 900 units
Spectre is trying a new approach: darts are trading in pierce for higher single-target damage, while bombs lean more into AoE Ceramic cleanup to improve overall efficiency. — Update notes
Spectre was making the save-up into into a Flying Fortress too effortless so it’s single target power has been lowered with a raised upgrade cost, enough to make this not quite so easy — Update notes
