Crossbow Master is the Dart Monkey's path 3 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. The Dart Monkey gains +5 pierce (total of 8), +20 range (80 range, ~77.78% increase compared to base tier), +100% attack speed (0.2375s attack cooldown), +2 damage (total of 8), and the Normal damage type. Additionally, each crit does 80 damage per shot and occurs every 5th shot.
With Path 1 upgrades, Sharp Shots and Razor Sharp Shots both grant +8 pierce each, the latter granting a total of +16 pierce; they have 16 and 24 pierce, respectively.
With 
Master Double Cross, the player is allowed to place or upgrade to a second Crossbow Master, allowing two Crossbow Masters on the field at the same time.
With 
Crossbow Reach, range is increased from 80 to 83.

Strategy

Crossbow Master is one of the worst Tier 5 towers in general gameplay. It is too expensive to be viable in the mid-game, it pierce caps too often versus Ceramics due to layer skipping,[fn 1] relies heavily on straight lines, and constantly misses even with optimal placement. It also becomes barely usable starting on Round 81 due to Super Ceramics' high health. It falls off heavily on most Advanced maps and a few Intermediate maps, but remains usable on all Beginner maps. Master Double Cross is only notable for the bonus Tier 5 for Apex Plasma Master.
Crossbow Master is one of two T5 options that can reliably solo Deflation, requiring 
Come On Everybody! and 
Bonus Monkey! to afford a 0-2-5 Crossbow Master. It is preferred over 5-2-0 The Blazing Sun on maps that require long range, such as Tricky Tracks.
0-2-5's greater single-target damage and reliability plus better receptiveness to flat pierce buffs (e.g. Primary Training) is superior to 2-0-5, which has more potential DPS against groups, but doubles down on its reliance on straight lines.
