Monkeyopolis is the Monkey Village's path 3 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. When purchased, it sacrifices all tier 4 or lower Banana Farms in range, deleting them from the map. In exchange, Monkeyopolis generates cash depending on the value of the Banana Farms (up to Tier 4) sacrificed. Monkeyopolis cannot be purchased unless there is a Banana Farm in range which can be sacrificed, and uniquely its cost does not depend on the game difficulty; rather, the upgrade always costs $5,000 times the number of Banana Farms in range. The extra cost of the Monkeyopolis upgrade contributes to its sellback, but the sacrifice value of the Farms does not.

Mechanics

Monkeyopolis produces 10 collectible crates of cash per round. The amount of cash it produces per round is given by the following formula, which depends on the total cash value of Banana Farms sacrificed:

Income per Round=max(200,200×floor(Value of Sacrificed Farms2000))+1000

Therefore, it generates a minimum of $1,200 per round with all 10 crates collected. If placed as an Insta-Monkey, it's treated as if it had this value.

Monkeyopolis cannot sacrifice a Banana Farm that is tier 5, or owned by a different player in Co-op.

Monkeyopolis stands out in Boss Events due to its combination of money production, discounts, and bonuses to other income sources. Its main use case is in early game, as a "Miniopolis" bought during early Round 30's or after the Tier 1 Boss to boost the income of other income-producing towers as well as producing income at the same time. With the Monkeyopolis, the player may continue to buy cheaper Farms that produce extra income, in addition to using the increased cash-per-pop, especially from a Bloon Trap setup.

There are two types of Miniopolis: the basic Miniopolis, and the IMFopolis. Fundamentally, they both involve only one Farm sacrificed, but the setup is distinct. The basic Miniopolis sacrifices one unupgraded Farm and is easy to execute, while the IMFopolis makes use of IMF Loan's Bank Deposits Bank Deposits and its loan ability to build into a stronger early game Monkeyopolis.

To execute the basic Miniopolis strategy with the most saving, do the following on a map with enough space for two or four Villages and a nearby Farm:

  1. Buy two or four 0-0-2 Villages near each other, buying one 0-0-2 at a time
    • Use two Villages if planning to sell the Miniopolis again after up to 10 rounds, or four Villages if planning to keep the Miniopolis for longer
  2. Upgrade the chosen Village into Monkey Town
  3. Place a Farm within range of as many Villages as possible
  4. Sell the other 0-0-2 Villages if needed, keeping one is useful if there is space nearby to place double-discounted farms later
  5. Buy Monkey City and then Monkeyopolis

To execute the IMFopolis strategy, it is required to have the Bank Deposits Bank Deposits Monkey Knowledge. This strategy is much more complex and is recommended for advanced players:

  1. Get a Monkey Bank between rounds 16-20
  2. While the Monkey Bank is collecting cash, buy 2-0-0 Greater Production Farms until 8 rounds pass from the initial Bank purchase
  3. After 11 rounds, collect cash from the Monkey Bank and upgrade it to an IMF Loan
  4. Upgrade Farms to 2-0-2, before the round ends sell the Farms and deposit all your cash into the IMF Loan
  5. Aim to keep depositing income into the IMF until reaching ~8,300. This will earn an extra 3,000 cash compared to not depositing
  6. After 3 rounds the IMF Loan ability should be ready to use and IMF Loan should have 12,000+ cash stored; withdraw that cash now
  7. Buy two or four 0-0-2 Villages near each other and buy Monkey Town. Make sure the village that becomes the Monkeyopolis is in range to sacrifice the IMF Loan.
  8. Sell the other 0-0-2 Villages if needed, keeping one is useful if there is space nearby to place double-discounted farms later
  9. Start the round and immediately use the Loan ability, upgrade Monkey Town to Monkeyopolis

The IMFopolis strategy is harder to pull off, but is able to add $1400 to the per-round income of the Miniopolis in return for having to pay off the loan. The IMF Loan is typically very weak without having money deposited while a loan is already active, but sacrificing it to the Monkeyopolis allows for full conversion of its price as opposed to selling it. Geraldo and his Rare Quincy Action Figure can replace the bank withdrawal in the IMFopolis setup - in this case, the Bank would be obtained during the 20's and the figure would be sold after round 30 to buy the IMF.

Later on, with the Monkey City buff and late-game discount and farming options, Monkeyopolis loses cost efficiency compared to other options. However, a large "Mega-opolis" can still consolidate many Farms into one tower, and requires no micro once set up compared to buffing BRFs with Overclock. Sacrifice 4-2-0 Farms for the highest value per Farm, and use range buffs such as Bounty Hunter's Take Aim, the Village buff, and Overclock to sacrifice as many Farms as possible. Buff it with a Monkey City after upgrading. Generally this Monkeyopolis is used either for competitive ranked Boss clears or as an alternative to spamming Overclock.

Last update included a change to the x2x Banana Farm which allowed Banks to finally receive external cash production buffs (previously none of these applied to bank path). This didn’t affect base level unbuffed farm balance, but some players noticed slight reductions in how effective buffs were when applied to other farms (320 and 023 crosspaths) due to this change, overall we’re positive about what the change means but to push back past that nerf to endgame farm synergy we balanced it out with a stronger synergy buff from villages

As a 1 per player T5 we didn’t mind this being excessively powerful at a base level, however the base level became so powerful people stopped investing into the actual farm sacrificing aspect, so we’re dropping this base value down to not skip massively ahead of the normal farm curve.
