Hot Shot is the Monkey Buccaneer's path 2 tier 2 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It turns its grapes burning hot, granting grapes the ability to pop Lead and Frozen Bloons but losing the ability to pop Purple Bloons. Additionally, the grapes gain a damage-over-time effect that ticks every 1.5 seconds, dealing 2 damage and lasting 3.1 seconds.

Tier 4 and above crosspaths have extra DoT damage from Hot Shot.

• Aircraft Carrier grapes deal 4 damage per tick. The radial volleys from the aircraft become tightly packed burning grapes that also burn Bloons, dealing 4 damage per tick per 0.5s for 3.1 seconds.
• Carrier Flagship increases damage per tick of both burning effects from 4 to 9.
• Favored Trades burn effect does 4 damage per tick, increased to 9 with Trade Empire

Strategy

Hot Shot's damage-over-time effect and innate lead-popping are beneficial against early Leads and for general damage to bloons. This upgrade also allows 0-2-2 Buccaneer to be a cheap but reliable way to pop Camo Leads on maps with water. It's not necessary for multiple Buccaneers to be crosspathed with Hot Shot, as the DoT cannot be stacked. Versus DDTs, external supports that grant lead-popping, such as Monkey Intelligence Bureau and a well-timed Admiral Brickell's Naval Tactics, are more reliable at damaging DDTs than crosspaths with Hot Shot.
