Oversize Nails offers a large pierce bonus to the main Engineer and a decent pierce bonus to other attacks, and its capability to hit Frozen reduces anti-synergy with freezing towers, including the Cold Sentries of [[Sentry Expert (BTD6)|Sentry Expert]]. The extra pierce on sentries benefits the most during the mid-game, which assists cleanup when used on [[Sprockets (BTD6)|Sprockets]] or Sentry Expert and a further benefit if upgraded to [[Pin (BTD6)|Pin]]. It's less preferred on [[Sentry Champion (BTD6)|Sentry Champion]] because that upgrade specialises in DPS, which [[Deconstruction (BTD6)|Deconstruction]] assists better in general, instead of supplementary damage.
