Popseidon's Ice Jet is separated from Arctic Knights. When activated, the Mermonkey stops the trident attack, triggers a wave that deals 70 frigid damage (+70 bonus to [[Frozen]] Bloons) to all bloons on screen and freezes all damaged bloons for 8 seconds, then rapidly shooting out ice balls for 3 seconds, at a rate of 0.1s per ice ball. While shooting, ice balls have a 30° angle deviation. Ice balls can affect all except White and Purple, and ignores White properties, and deals 30 damage that doesn't penetrate multiple layers and 240 pierce. Ice balls can bounce off obstacles and the edges of the map, and can rehit bloons after bouncing off obstacles. They last for up to 15 seconds on screen.

Like Arctic Knight, Popseidon gains a target marker that focuses the direction of the Ice Jet ability's shots, instead of aiming based on standard targeting priorities. This target marker can be deactivated once a mark is set, which goes through a 5 second cooldown before reactivating a target.

Popseidon
Popseidon's Ice Jet ability draws such power that a rogue wave floods the map with supercooled water, freezing all Bloons and reclaiming the weak for the sea.
Popseidon is the Mermonkey's path 2 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. Alongside a new separate Ice Jet ability that additionally summons a freezing wave, Popseidon gains two lateral tridents shot independently to the main trident, in an arc of 45° (60° with 0-5-1).
Both tridents do more damage. Base range also increases from 32 to 50 (43.2 to 67.5 on water). Popseidon's Ice Jet ability summons a wave that deals 70 to all Bloons (+70 bonus to Frozen Bloons) except those with Purple and White immunities, in addition to Ice Jet projectiles that do 30 damage instead of 20 and also bounce off the edges of the map.
The trident attack gains the following benefits compared to Arctic Knight:
Increased base damage from 8 to 15, and does +7.5 damage to frozen Bloons and +15 damage to MOAB-class Bloons.
Wavelet damage increased from 8 to 15, and does +7.5 damage to frozen Bloons and +15 damage to MOAB-class Bloons.
Like previous upgrades, tridents grow in projectile radius and damage at a steady rate, and create two wavelets at 180° apart that deal non-scaling damage and lose projectile size as they travel. All tridents and wavelets also have 25 pierce.
Ice Jet
Popseidon's Ice Jet is separated from Arctic Knights. When activated, the Mermonkey stops the trident attack, triggers a wave that deals 70 frigid damage (+70 bonus to Frozen Bloons) to all bloons on screen and freezes all damaged bloons for 8 seconds, then rapidly shooting out ice balls for 3 seconds, at a rate of 0.1s per ice ball. They last for up to 15 seconds on screen, and have a cap of 20 seconds if lifespan is increased through external buffs.
Like Arctic Knight, Popseidon gains a target marker that focuses the direction of the Ice Jet ability's shots, instead of aiming based on standard targeting priorities. This target marker can be deactivated once a mark is set, which goes through a 5 second cooldown before reactivating a target.
For its rather steep price, Popseidon is a powerful T5 that only has damage type issues and a lack of single-target damage. Due to its complete lack of White and Purple popping, it is more suitable for late-game when combined with additional defenses that can deal with Round 95's Camo Regrow Purple spam, because all its attacks are usually sufficient enough to clear out Super Ceramics and weaker MOABs and DDTs. Use its ability against a fast rush of bloons, freezing clumps while clearing out any excess bloons.
Both crosspaths are have solid use cases. The Trident Efficiency and Trident Swiftness upgrades provide maximum DPS but forgo the homing tridents, innate camo detection, and potentially massive range. The top crosspaths are preferred for reliable cleanup against dense clumps, but otherwise bottom crosspaths are more effective for general cases. Note that it needs camo detection to freeze invisible DDTs with the ability.

While we’re not jumping into any full on balance changes, there’s a few corrections that we wanted to make for type-fixes and other intended play. — Update notes

Ice Jet: Projectile lifespan is now capped at 20 seconds
Ice Jet: Projectile damage type changed ― Shatter → Plasma
While the Arctic Knight has been popular, Riptide Champion has major pierce issues and is seeing a price reduction as well as a pierce increase to make up for this. Arctic Knight itself is receiving the brand new damage type added this update; as it is gaining a weakness to White Bloons from this and wasn’t too wild before we are increasing the power as well & allowing the ability to carry over 1 round to prevent projectiles timing out immediately when cast at the end of a round. Popseidon had unintentionally more pierce on the central trident’s split projectiles, so this pierce is being spread out for a total increase. Finally popseidon released with a very wide projectile arc to prevent the seeking projectiles from clumping immediately, we like how this has worked out but feel that only the 052 crosspath needs to have this increased arc. — Update notes

Overall cost reduced by $625 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
Central trident: pierce increased ― 16 → 18
Side trident: pierce increased ― 16 → 18
Central split trident: pierce decreased ― 24 → 18
Side split trident: pierce increased ― 16 → 18
Projectile arc reduced ― 60° → 45°
Note: 0-5-2 crosspath projectile arc remains the same
Trident: damage type changed ― Plasma → Frigid
Note: Projectile will be destroyed when hitting White properties
Ability: damage type changed ― Plasma → Frigid
Note: Projectile will be destroyed when hitting White properties
While we were happy with Arctic Knight’s Ice Jet being a high pierce MOAB layer removal that could with other tower combinations be upgraded to a more effective full-clear, there is not currently enough varied ways of quickly dealing with White Bloon layers, so for a long cooldown based ability this heavy a weakness is too much for now. — Update notes

Ice Jet: Projectiles pass through White or Zebra Bloons if they can't damage them, instead of destroying the projectile
Now reduces the lifespan of Ice Jet projectiles by 33% (undocumented)
Note: This means the maximum travel distance of Ice Jet projectiles is now the same as without the crosspath, since this crosspath increases their projectile speed by 50%
Middle path is seeing a consistency improvement for Freeze Duration & White Bloons, and Popseidon’s ability is being improved to damage & slow DDTs (if it can see them) and destroy all non-fortified Ceramics. — Update notes
Mermonkey weren’t[sic] feeling they favoured their natural habitat enough, so their Water Placement bonus is getting a boost. Middle Path Mermonkey just isn’t putting in the work we hoped, so we’re giving a couple price adjustments, a pierce increase across all tiers, and some light ability improvements to make it feel more rewarding. — Update notes

Upgrade cost reduced ― $52,000 → $48,000
Overall cost reduced by $4,400 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
Side trident: Pierce increased ― 18 → 25
Ability: Projectiles can now re-hit targets after bouncing from a map border (bug fix)
Note: Previously they could only re-hit if bounced from an obstacle
Ability: Permafrost duration increased ― 6s → 8s
Ability: Permafrost now affects up to 10 layers under the initial layer
Ability: Flood Now deals +70 bonus damage to Frozen Bloons
Ability: Flood now applies Freeze and Permafrost to BADs and Boss Bloons (bug)
Note: These Bloons won't be stopped for the Freeze but will take the extra damage, their speed is still reduced by Permafrost.
Trident: Pierce increased ― 18 → 25
Range bonus when placed in water increased ― +25% → +35%
Riptide Champion as an underappreciated star performed exceptionally well with recent changes which are now being scaled back and Popseidon which was also performing extremely well will likewise be scaled back — Update notes

Upgrade cost increased ― $48,000 → $52,000
Overall cost increased by $4,300 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
Mermonkey ended up somewhat underrated and overbuffed, mid tiers for top and middle paths have really stood out here lately and need to be reigned back in line. — Update notes
”
Overall cost increased by $625 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
