Ray of Doom is the Dartling Gunner's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It fires a larger constant laserbeam with 30 damage (instead of 1 and +10 MOAB-class damage), +110 bonus damage to the first target, and nigh-unlimited (999) pierce. The shock damage bonus and damage-over-time are both increased (20 instead of 1), and duration is increased from 5 to 30 seconds. The laserbeam no longer extends until the Dartling Gunner's target, instead continuing on indefinitely until it hits an obstacle or exits the map.
With 5-0-2, the beam radius is increased from 6 to 9, and pierce increased from 999 to 1025.

Strategy
[edit | edit source]The Ray of Doom is an expensive tower that is difficult to afford in most situations without income generation. If it can be afforded however, it can easily wipe out the late game on most maps. Its huge pierce makes dense waves of Bloons a non-issue, but it somewhat struggles in single-target damage given its high cost. Ray of Doom is viable against earlier tiers of Boss Bloons, but it is almost always outclassed by M.A.D for this purpose. Its combined DoT damage and duration is high enough to be significant for The Final Harmonic, but remains lower than 5-0-1 The Bloon Solver or Glaive Lord.
Unless playing Least Tiers, it should always be crosspathed with 5-2-0 for maximum DPS, as 5-0-2's larger radius is minimal and the tiny pierce bonus is useless.
