Lord of the Abyss is a bad value compared to its preceding upgrade, costing more than triple the price of the entire tower for only 20% extra pierce for other towers. Even though it can slow blimps more consistently, it is unable to use all of its tentacle attacks on most maps and is a poor cleanup tower. It is not worth it to upgrade an Abyssal Warrior for a single tower such as Carpet of Spikes or Perma-Spike, but it is useful as a support for Spike Storm spam in bosses. The ability to place water towers on land does not do anything for its viability in CHIMPS, but is nice to have in general gameplay.
The 5-2-0 crosspath should be used for extra pierce on the trident attack, and 5-0-2 should be used if innate camo detection is needed.
