Sentry Champion (formerly named Sentry Paragon before Version 28.0) is the Engineer Monkey's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It now deploys Champion Sentries that self-destruct after expiring, causing a large explosion that pops 50 Bloons (75 with Oversize Nails) and deals 100 damage. Champion Sentries shoot plasma balls that pop up to 5 Bloons (10 with Oversize Nails), and deal 3 damage (+1 MOAB-Class and +1 Fortified damage with Deconstruction), and have 50 range (54 with Larger Service Area).
This upgrade also reduces the attack cooldown of the Engineer's nail attack from 0.35s to 0.3s.
Sentry Champion is a very weak tower without external buffs, but it becomes effective in the presence of them. Champion Sentries attack extremely fast with many projectiles, but have very low damage and pierce. They also inherit speed buffs from the Sentry Champion, effectively multiplying the effect of the buff by increasing both sentry attack speed and deployment rate. Thus, pairing it with at least a Call to Arms and Jungle Drums is mandatory for it stand out. Homeland Defense is much stronger, making an effective synergy when used against Bosses.
Sentry Champion also benefits from damage buffs and blimp debuffs. Glue Strike, in particular the Glue Soak crosspath to penetrate blimps, is one of its best pairings. Despite a moderate tier 5 cost, it's one of the cheaper tier 5s when accounting for previous tiers, allowing more cash to be spent on the necessary buffs and debuffs.
The Deconstruction crosspath is generally preferred, since its bonus damage to Fortified and MOAB-Class Bloons works well with the Champion Sentries' fast attacks, but faces anti-synergy with Larger Service Area's erratic sentry placements. Oversize Nails grants a substantial pierce buff, making it a better choice against dense rounds, but Pin doesn't affect Super Ceramics, so 5-0-1 is usually enough unless transitioning from Sentry Expert.

Continuing our efforts to make crosspaths meaningful and fit the style of each path more solidly, a number of crosspath and base level balance shifts were made. — Update notes

Paragon Sentry: explosion radius now scales with range modifiers
Sentry: deployment rate increased ― 7s → 6s
5-1-0, 5-2-0
Larger Service Area crosspath now increases Sentry range by +4
5-0-1, 5-0-2
Oversize Nails crosspath now allows Sentries to pop frozen Bloons
Oversize Nails crosspath now increases Sentry pierce by 1
The MOAB offense of top path lacks for a mainly dps tower that is quite complex to use [...] the 320 crosspath will now be able to double dip on the Fortified & MOAB damage bonuses that it gains. — Update notes
Applying pierce crosspathing to Sentry Champion only granting an abysmal +1 pierce to the explosion while an intended joke at the time still feels a little silly, we’re separating that up to get its own larger increase now. — Update notes
Sentry placements are slightly changing to improve their reliability, and will now spawn closer to the track depending on how much range the sentry has. Sentry Champion, while strong with them, is lacking without high buff support so we’re trying out an increase to the sentry damage on it. — Update notes

Overall cost reduced by $50 (due to cost changes for previous tiers)
Champion Sentry: Damage increased ― 2 → 3
Sentry deployment: Sentries now spawn within 20% of their range to the track
This was becoming annoying screen clutter with large numbers of sentries, and feels unnecessary when you can overclock the engineer itself to create more sentries instead. — Update notes

Overclock and Ultraboost abilities no longer target Engineer sentries
Really only one major change here; a rebalancing to how the 2xx Crosspath applies across various engineer upgrades, and some base stats being changed to accommodate fitting this. — Update notes
