Rocket Storm is the Dartling Gunner's path 2 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. In addition to +2 pierce to both its Hydra missiles and explosions, it gains the Rocket Storm ability, which creates persistent waves of purple missiles that move erratically and deal high damage but low pierce.

With Laser Shock, the shock only is applied by the main missile, and does not do extra shocked damage. Powerful Darts increases pierce of both missiles and explosions by +2; the Hydra missile essentially gains an extra explosion plus an extra 2 pierce per explosion, blast radius increased from 8 to 12 for all missiles, and the ability missiles gain +4 pierce.

Mechanics

Rocket Storm

When the Rocket Storm Ability is activated, this Dartling unleashes a wave of 10 missiles that are launched immediately and every 0.5 seconds, for up to 7.5 seconds. The rate of launching waves of missiles is affected by attack speed modifiers. This attack does not interrupt the main Hydra missile attack. Each of these ability missiles are shot within 90° spread (36° with 1-4-0), have random angular offsets, and travel in a serpentine motion. Explosions deal 5 damage and +1 Ceramic damage over a radius of 8 (12 with 0-4-2) and have 8 pierce (12 with 0-4-2).

The Rocket Storm ability is duration-based, and therefore cannot be re-activated while it's already running. Like most abilities, Rocket Storm ability is greyed out during the break between rounds, only un-greyed once the next round begins. This ability has a cooldown of 45 seconds.

Monkey Knowledge

With Gorgon Storm, Rocket Storm missiles stun Bloons for 0.5 seconds and MOAB-Class Bloons for 0.1 seconds.

Rocket Storm is a decent mid-game carry when micromanaged. It can burst down difficult rounds with its ability, and the basic Hydra attack is strong enough to handle the ability's downtime against all except constant spaced MOABs and dense Ceramics.

1-4-0 is recommended to improve the ability's accuracy, focusing better at single targets especially when placed far away. 0-4-2 can be used in Race modes to maximize pierce. 2-4-0's effects are negligible compared to 1-4-0.

• Rocket Storm's ability reuses the sound effect of Captain Churchill's MOAB Barrage ability, internally named ActivatedMoabBarrageNoVO.wav. Prior to version 30.0, this was the variant of his voiceline when Hero voices were turned off.
