Embrittlement is the Ice Monkey's path 1 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6.
Its attack now applies brittle to all bloons hit, which has the following effects:
- Temporarily (for 2 seconds, reapplied on each attack) makes affected bloons take damage from attacks that would not deal damage to lead or frozen (can be interpreted as making affected bloons temporarily lose lead and frozen properties). This also implies that now embrittlement can pop its own ice shards without Re-Freeze. This effect does not work on other immunities like black and white bloons (most importantly, does not make DDTs vulnerable to explosion damage).
- Temporarily makes affected bloons take +1 damage from all sources (for 2 seconds as well).
This effect soaks through layers along with ice shards, and they both soak for 1 more layer (3 in total, 4 if crosspathed with Deep Freeze).

Strategy
Embrittlement is a very versatile but map dependent tower. If a good enough spot exists where it can target a decent length of the track (for example, in a 90º bend), it is a reliable source of decamo, lead popping power and damage amplifier, all within a cheap price.
It is best paired with towers that have high amounts of attack speed and projectiles with low base damage (like bottom path tack shooters), since the damage amplification results in a more significant DPS increase.
