Inferno Ring is the Tack Shooter's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It adds a new meteor attack and greatly improves the Ring of Fire's area of effect attack, upgrading the following:
Attack cooldown reduced by 68.25%, for an attack speed increase of approximately 3.15x
The meteor seeks towards targets, dealing 700 damage (1,000 with Even More Tacks) to the intended target(s) with infinite range, following standard targeting priorities. It has 1 pierce (2 with Super Range Tacks) that can be buffed, and once all pierce is used it creates an explosion that does 50 damage with 10 pierce and burns any non-Purple (50 damage per second for 4.1 seconds). The meteor is shot every 4 seconds. The meteor can only collide with the targeted bloon (therefore, it can't get blocked by other bloons), and cannot retarget the same bloon twice (only applied when it has more than 1 pierce). If no new targets are found, the meteor will fly off the map.
Inferno Ring has a difficult saveup in exchange for performing much better against MOAB class bloons, but is still only an average win condition that requires a lot of support. The high-damage meteor attack needs pierce buffs, such as Primary Training, Berserker Brew, and Stronger Stimulant, for it to do anything meaningful. Without a Symphonic Resonance to move bloons inside of its radius, Inferno Ring leaks too often to both DDTs and ceramics. An Overclock may be necessary if it struggles to pop bloons before they escape its range while also increasing the attack rate of the meteor. The targeting of the meteor should be set on Strong to get the most out of its single target damage.
Gwendolin is the best Hero for Inferno Ring because of her attack speed buffs. Bottom crosspath is better if Inferno Ring's pierce can be buffed for more overall damage. Otherwise, middle crosspath is better, as the +1 pierce to the meteor becomes more important without buffs.

Inferno Ring has felt very outclassed for a long time, and more recently the tack shooter was reworked to give pierce on x2x which made the old 402 pierce crosspath not make as much sense anymore. We wanted to start work on both these issues together by reworking how Ring of Fire and Inferno Ring interact with crosspaths — Update notes

Super Range Tacks now grants +10 pierce to Ring of Fire/Inferno Ring (+20 total)
The Ring of Fire & Inferno Ring upgrades recently received a crosspath functional rework, as we’re happy with the x2x range/pierce combo now this small follow-up is just to bring a bit more impact to the short-range 402 variant. — Update notes
Inferno Ring is priced high for a low single-target damage pierce based tower when pierce isn't as important at high rounds, so price has been reduced. — Update notes
Inferno Ring itself feels ok but for the difficult saveup not so much, so as a bit of a buff we have added crosspathing to the Meteor attack. — Update notes

5-2-0
Super Range Tacks now increases the pierce of the meteor attack by 1
5-0-2
Even More Tacks now increases the meteor attack's damage by 300
Ring of Fire should pick up in that area for cleanup use & general destruction but it has more pierce than it really needs in most scenarios with other important stats sitting lower to compensate for high pierce, so we have shifted this high pierce more into requiring the pierce crosspath in exchange for more base power and an overall buff. Inferno Ring’s meteor will now also follow target priority since that was a fun idea that was worth adding. — Update notes
