Orca is the Beast Handler's path 1 tier 4 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. The tower now handles an Orca instead of a Great White Shark.

Orca's thrash has more blast radius, more damage, and knockbacks back power, including MOAB-Class Bloons. Additionally, Orca now drags all type of Bloons for only 1 second and can drag MOABs and BFBs for Remaining HP120 seconds, with a minimum of 1 second and maximum of 6 seconds.

At max beast power, Orca can drag ZOMGs and DDTs if visible.

Strategy

At Power 64, Orca is one of the strongest towers for its cost, dragging ZOMGs & DDTs and practically wiping out everything else surrounding it with its thrash. The Power 16 Orca can be used to one-shot BFBs in the mid-game, but is not as powerful for its cost.

Power 64 Orca pairs extremely well with Overclock, which has permanent uptime thanks to Orca being a Tier 4 tower. Set it on Strong for maximum thrash time, switch to First when a long line of Bloons/blimps is in front of it, and reposition it if many Bloons/blimps exit its range. The best way to obtain a Power 64 Orca is to get a Power 16 Orca and two Power 24 Great Whites (which are more efficient merges than additional Orcas) for the mid-game for a smooth save-up, and then merge them into Orca on Round 80. Orca's downtime makes it tend to leak stray Bloons, which can be solved with cleanup towers such as Perma-Spike.

As our newest tower to be added to BTD6, we went over feedback for every path and made a large number of adjustments addressing a variety of points.

Compared to other T4 Beast Handlers and given the high cost of merging multiple beasts we agreed that the Orca & Megalodon’s total prices were too much more expensive for their somewhat random nature.

Beast Handler’s general repositioning feels far too free right now, the reposition cooldown is being increased to a more reasonably noticeable number so this feels like a meaningful cost. We feel Beast Handler balance is setting down nicely overall but it feels like the reposition cooldown increasing was far more impactful and unfun than intended, we still feel the initial delay was silly but are cutting it down again a little. Orca's knockback has the same duration as the T3 so although it does gain a little increased knockback amount already it's very random in what it hits much more expensive than the T3 so this knockback duration is being increased a little for base & merge.

Base handler's beast range felt too high starting off when considering the tower is built around sharing range between multiple Handlers so this range is being reduced. Top Handler is designed around huge inconsistent power, however Megalodon feels that it should be more reliable for the investment required so we are improving both thrash radius and reducing the cooldown. Fish RBE limit before being able to devour the target instantly is being increased to last further into freeplay.
