Total Transformation is the Alchemist's path 2 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It allows the Transforming Tonicability to also transform the five closest eligible towers into miniature laser-firing monsters for 20 seconds. Other transformed towers do not inherit most upgrades, but do keep most types of buffs. This upgrade also reduces the ability cooldown of the Alchemist from 60 to 40 seconds. The Total Transformation ability cannot be used while the Alchemist is under transformation.
Like its preceding upgrade, Total Transformation's main monster can accept benefits from crosspaths, but the mini monsters do not benefit from them.

Mini monsters, which are other towers transformed from the Total Transformation ability, behave differently from the main Total Transformation, which is unmodified. Mini monsters also do not receive crosspath benefits from the Total Transformation that transformed them. Visually, mini monsters are smaller and fluffier than the main monster, which is identical to the one created from Transforming Tonic.
Towers that are under transformation stop their regular attacks, and stop providing any buffs. They also lose their activated abilities. When activated, the transformation retains its current targeting priorities. A transformed Ice Monkey without Cryo Cannon will always default to Close, since these Ice Monkeys are always re-set to Close when not transformed.
Towers that are amphibious can be transformed on top of water. The Arctic Wind under transformation stops creating ice platforms, forcibly selling all land towers that relied on it to stand on water. Transformed towers cannot be upgraded, but can be sold.
Mini monsters gain an eye beam attack that deals 2 damage, has 10 pierce, and an attack cooldown of 0.03 seconds. Transformed towers' range becomes 72 units, and they gain the ability to see and shoot through line-of-sight blockers. The beams cannot damage Purple Bloons. Transformed towers that have an upgrade that grants Camo detection, such as Monkey Sense, can target Camo Bloons. However, transformed Ninja Monkeys cannot see Camo unless provided Camo detection from elsewhere. Transformed towers do not inherit other types of upgrades, such as upgrades that increase attack speed or pierce.

Verify if: (also some others not listed)
Desperadoes can benefit from Nomad passive speed+range buff (try ezili totem to auto-trigger life loss while transformed monsters are done)
Cleansing Foam can benefit from start of round speed boost (these are "self-buffs")
Sun Avatars can benefit from Blood Sacrifice
Wizards can benefit from Sacrificial Totem
primary monkeys can benefit from boomerang paragon speed buff, and top path village primary buffs perhaps

Transformed towers maintain their tower type, meaning they can keep their buffs that are type-specific. The exception is that transformed Dart Monkeys cannot be affected by Super or Plasma Monkey Fan Club, and Dart Monkeys under a Fan Club transformation cannot be transformed by Total Transformation.
Transformed Ninja Monkeys are affected by the Shinobi Tactics buff
Total Transformation plays a very similar role to Plasma Monkey Fan Club; it transforms monkeys for a large burst of damage. It transforms fewer monkeys, but affects many more tower types, allowing transformed monkeys to inherit a wider variety of buffs. Transformed monkeys also ignore Line of Sight blockers which gives an edge on certain maps over the Fan Club.
Stalling is a key requirement for effective use because of the long cooldown. Towers that can provide massive burst stalling such as the Absolute Zero or towers which can intentionally stall a single bloon indefinitely like the MOAB Shove are as such useful.
The best monkeys to pair with Total Transformation are Druids of Wrath paired with Poplusts and Obyn, or with Shinobis, due to their tower type dependent buffs, which carry over into the transformed monkeys. Bear in mind that transformed monkeys temporarily lose the buffs they provide to others; for instance with Shinobis, buy 5 more so they gain the max buffs when transformed.
0-5-1 is the preferred crosspath as the greater attack speed increase affecting the monster far outweighs the benefits extra pierce would provide. Crosspaths don't affect the transformed monkeys, but since they have high pierce already, the main monster wouldn't realistically have pierce issues.

Concoction explosion: No longer deals much more damage in a resumed game after granting the tower a damage buff in another game (e.g., Sun Temple support buffing it in Sandbox) (bug fix)
While the middle path T5 gets some use, T4 Transforming Tonic does not perform well for the low pierce amount so pierce has been increased. — Update notes
Transforming Tonic has always had a large struggle with pierce, rather than directly throwing onto the base pierce we have added crosspathing pierce & rate benefits for transformation enjoyers to now choose between. — Update notes
Transforming Tonic has been compared to being a worse but more expensive Turbo Charge, and that seems like a fair complaint. T5 has good niche uses, but T4 isn't worth the cost right now so we’re adding more juice to the tonic. — Update notes
Alchemist Transforming Tonic is in a weird spot with the transformation unable to attack through walls when the base alchemist is able to. Also with this, including a QoL fix for the T5 that currently prevents transformed towers from functioning with target priority. — Update notes

Towers transformed by Total Transformation will keep their Target Priority
Transformed alchemist can now ignore line of sight
Alchemist 220 stands out a little too effectively in the crosspath efficiency of Acidic Mixture Dip uptime combined with the reduced forced downtime at 320 and so is being reduced. Total Transformation alchemist when transformed have never been allowing damage to distribute to children layers of any targets, while this is an option we can use as an intended balance lever - we have instead decided to turn this blocker off as it isn't one we have used elsewhere and has made these upgrades perform far weaker against regular Bloons comparatively to Ceramic & MOAB-class due to damage buffs that have been given to transformed alchemists over time. — Update notes

Ability: Damage now soaks through layers
Solved Quantum Entanglement (bug fix)
Note: Bug that allowed you to entangle towers together allowing you to do some really crazy things
Total Transformation can now transform Desperado, simple enough, & don’t worry transformed Desperado still gets all their usual damage bonuses against Marked Bloons, so we’re interested to see what people can do with that. — Update notes
