Middle path crosspath is better for group damage, as the shrapnel can hit several bloons and stun moabs, while bottom path crosspath is better suited for single target damage. Middle path also grants camo detection, allowing this tower to hit and stun DDTs.

Maim MOAB is a flexible method of stunning blimps across any range, given enough [[line of sight]]. It is a good support tower, assisting defenses that take time to pop blimps. It sees great utility from the mid-game up to Round 150 (which reduces stun duration from all towers), thanks to both its stun and decent blimp damage.


Without external buffs 4-0-2 can permanently stun a single MOAB or BFB permanently and a small attack speed buff (such as [[Jungle Drums (BTD6)|Jungle Drums]]) to permanently stun a ZOMG.
4-2-0 is the generally recommended crosspath, as it grants DDT stunning power and the shrapnel allows for the stunning of far more blimps, providing significantly improved supporting capabilities. {{BTD6|Berserker Brew}} greatly enhances the 4-2-0 Maim MOAB, granting much-needed pierce and attack speed. 4-0-2 is useful for stalling single blimps, but is outclassed by {{BTD6|MOAB Shove}}, which is cheaper and deals less damage, allowing for a longer stall.
