Super Brittle is the Ice Monkey's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. Compared to Embrittlement, Super Brittle attacks twice as fast (attack cooldown reduced from 2.4 seconds to 1.2 seconds), does more damage with all its attacks, and its debuff causes affected Bloons to take +4 damage from all sources for 3 seconds (instead of +1 for 2 seconds) and temporarily removes Lead and Frozen immunities for 3 seconds instead of 2. The debuff does not stack with Embrittlement or Herald of Everfrost, and overrides Embrittlement. Like Embrittlement, it permanently removes Camo and Regrow properties, and its own debuffs can be refreshed.

The main attack is improved, dealing normal damage type (can hit all Bloon types), instead of glacier. It can apply a permafrost effect to MOAB-Class Bloons, permanently slowing them by 25%. Each blast does 5 damage and +5 to Ceramics, and affected Bloons spawn 6 ice shards when popped, each shard dealing 5 damage with a projectile range of 40.

All effects soak through 6 layers (7 with Deep Freeze), instead of 3.

Super Brittle is a stronger and more concentrated Embrittlement. The increased attack speed improves reliability of the de-camo, de-lead, and debuff capabilities, and the increased damage that Bloons take from it can dramatically increase the DPS of towers with multiple rapid projectiles that deal low damage (usually 1 or 2 damage). Towers such as Overdrive, Destroyer, Sun Avatar, Super Monkey Fan Club, The Tack Zone, and Grandmaster Ninja, benefit greatly from the extra damage boost.

Super Brittle is immensely powerful in Freeplay and Boss Events, thanks to its +4 damage debuff consistently applying onto BADs and Bosses and greatly amplifying the damage of other towers. In CHIMPS, Super Brittle is effective when placed around a chokehold but struggles on maps with multiple non-converging lanes, and its favored Hero is Silas. Compared to Glue Storm, which costs less and its debuffs can be timed manually, Super Brittle is only reliant on positioning.

Super Brittle suffers from low range and pierce, preventing it from covering all lanes of every map and limiting its ability to debuff dense groups or perform cleanup. Its DDT de-lead is consistent on maps with short bends if it doesn't pierce-cap. Despite its much more efficient Super Ceramic Bloon popping, they may still slip through without other supports. Additional group-popping should be paired alongside it so itself can act as cleanup against Super Ceramics and proc its ice shards to damage other Bloons more efficiently. The shards deal enough damage to produce a chain effect at shredding Bloon groups.

5-2-0 is the recommended crosspath for CHIMPS, which improves its DPS and makes it more reliable for cleanup, but 5-0-1 is better for Bosses and Freeplay, as its debuff already has permanent uptime and reaching more parts of the track is preferred there. Re-Freeze does nothing, because it already can re-freeze all Frozen Bloons. Note that Super Brittle attacks fast enough to create shards by itself, even without middle crosspath.

Ice Monkey base pierce is too high, very easily countering large numbers of strong Bloons early, mid or late in the game for small investment, leading to very low tiers of ice monkey (below t3) being highly effective spam options over upgrading your ice. We are reworking some of this base pierce to require crosspath investment and buffing the damage Ice 3xx Ice Shards to compensate for some of its reduced pierce.

We’re happier with more recent freeze changes succeeding in some of the intentions of older nerfs, given the base tower value in races being hit far more than intended we’re going back over the pierce for Ice Monkey base & middle crosspath.

Embrittlement is cheap and balanced by its limited range and rate making it difficult to apply to very many targets with reliable frequency, however Super Brittle is far more expensive but still faces these same struggles. Feels fair for the cost to increase its attack rate further.

Super Brittle’s never stood out on its own which was fine for a tower whose job was making other things better, but recently after the addition of Silas we've started to feel its value is really too niche even for a support piece, so we’re cranking the numbers so it can actually break a few things itself.
