Exploding Pineapple is the Monkey Ace's path 2 tier 1 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. This upgrade unlocks an additional attack that drops a pineapple on the map at the Monkey Ace's location every 1.6 seconds (1.2 seconds with Rapid Fire). Pineapples explode after 2 seconds, dealing 1 Explosion-type damage with 20 pierce (32 with Sharper Darts) in a 35-unit radius. Visually, each pineapple displays a countdown that starts at 3 and counts down by 1 every two-thirds of a second, exploding when it would reach zero. With 
Targeted Pineapples, the Monkey Ace only drops pineapples while flying over the path. This upgrade has crosspathing benefits:
- With Fighter Plane and above, it increases the pierce and blast radius of their missiles, and causes them to drop pineapples after exploding.
- With Sky Shredder, the pineapples deal +2 damage to Ceramic Bloon.
- With Spectre, it increases the pierce of the bombs by 10 and blast radius by 3 units.
- With Flying Fortress, it increases the pierce of the bombs by 15 and blast radius by 3 units.

The pineapple attack is a cheap source of extra pierce, such as for Race Events with Ace starts, but its inconsistency due to the unreasonably long timer until exploding makes it incredibly problematic for cheap lead-popping. More often, it's bought for Spy Plane's innate camo detection, or supplement a niche to destroying dense groups for Spectre or Fighter Plane and above.

While Pineapples are never the star of the show, the amount of pierce they have is completely unnecessary for their usage window and has only led to balance problems for Bombing Run, specifically in races. This high amount of pierce has been more evenly spread through higher tiers & crosspath.
