Velociraptor is the Beast Handler's path 2 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. The Beast Handler now handles a velociraptor instead of an adasaurus. Its Beast Power is increased by +5, changing its Beast Power scale from 3–6 to 8–24.

The Velociraptor has 24 range instead of 20, and each bite has 18 radius instead of 15, plus increased damage, further bonus damage to stunned Bloons, and more pierce. Merges improve its damage, bonus stunned damage, and pierce, plus reduced attack cooldowns. Its bonus Ceramic damage is also increased from +1 to +4, regardless of Beast Power.

• Damage: Increased from 2–4 to 4–16.
• Bonus stunned damage: +3–7
• Pierce: Increased from 8–20 to 12–26.
• Attack cooldown: Starts at 1s, which decreases to 0.6561s at max Beast Power.

Velociraptor is slow and weak for its cost, dealing poor damage to standard Bloons, insufficient pierce that causes it to struggle against swarms of weak Bloons, and needing merges to one-shot any standard Bloon except a normal Fortified Ceramic Bloon. It needs merges to have any value as a cleanup tower against standard Bloons. Its bonus stunned Bloon bonus is big enough to warrant applying stuns from Relentless Glue and similar stun supports.

Low power Velociraptor is slow and weak compared to Power 6 Adasaurus before it, and it should always have merges. Power 16 is enough to one-shot Rainbows, and Power 22 versus non-Fortified Ceramics. Power 24 has more consistency with faster attack speed, does better against groups, and aids transition into Tyrannosaurus Rex later.

However in practice though some people have come on board with spending their playable space as a resource for more power; actual interest is much more divided between maximizing cost efficiency of these merges or simply using different towers. Given that spam of lower tier handlers already comes with the advantage of allowing them to be repositioned over a larger area, we’re changing our approach with a full cost rebalance across most T1-3 upgrades for exactly equal cost per point of merged beast power, instead leaving the nuance around understanding higher value merges & footprint advantage to depend more on discounts.
