 Converts the Dart Monkey into a slower attacking Spike-o-pult that hurls large spiked balls. Each ball can pop lots of Bloons and rebounds off obstacles.

Spike-o-pult is the Dart Monkey's path 1 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. This upgrade replaces the Dart Monkey's darts with a catapult that launches spiked balls. These deal 2 damage, have 18 pierce, pop frozen Bloons, have increased projectile size (2 to 5) and lifetime (0.25s to 1s), and rebound off obstacles to rehit Bloons. However, these are fired every 1.15 seconds instead of 0.95 seconds and have half the base projectile speed. Additionally, the Spike-o-pult gains 4.8 units of range.

Strategy

Spike-o-pult is an excellent early game tower when used on maps with many obstacles (e.g. Cornfield), where its balls can bounce off walls repeatedly. It is also great for Race Events due to its cheap cost and high pierce and damage. Outside of these conditions, it struggles to make use of its high pierce compared to other early-game options with better damage, despite its low cost. Other early-game options that compete with Spike-o-pult include Glaive Ricochet, Druid of the Jungle, and Ninja's Double Shot.
3-2-0 has much more DPS and is preferred for Races. 3-0-2 does not have much use by itself unless upgrading to Juggernaut, which is useful in maps with many walls such as Castle Revenge, Dark Dungeons, and Ravine, though in the meantime it serves as early camo detection on the maps it excels at.
