Spike-o-pult is ~~best~~ used on maps with many obstacles~~, such as~~ [[Cornfield]], where its balls can bounce off walls repeatedly ~~and it is an excellent early-game tower~~. ~~Spike-o-pult~~ is also ~~an excellent tower~~ for [[~~Races~~]] due to its cheap cost and high pierce. ~~When playing on maps with few obstacles outside~~ of ~~races~~, ~~Spike-o-pult falls behind~~ other early-game options, such as [[~~Sentry Gun (BTD6)|Sentry Gun~~]].

Spike-o-pult is an excellent early game tower when used on maps with many obstacles (e.g. [[Cornfield]]), where its balls can bounce off walls repeatedly. It is also great for [[Race Event]]s due to its cheap cost and high pierce and damage. Outside of these conditions, it struggles to make use of its high pierce compared to other early-game options with better damage.

3-2-0 has much more DPS and is preferred for Races. 3-0-2 does not have much use by itself unless upgrading to {{BTD6|Juggernaut}}, which is useful in maps with many walls such as [[Castle Revenge]], [[Dark Dungeons]], and [[Ravine]].
