It increases the amount of time MOAB-Class Bloons are stunned on hit and allows Sniper Monkey to apply a cripple debuff to them, causing them to take +5 damage from all sources. It also increases the damage of Sniper Monkey's bullets from 30 to 140, and grants bullets an area of effect that deals 28 damage to up to 10 Bloons near the impact location (up to a distance of 8 units). This effect does not stun or cripple blimps.

With the Shrapnel Shot crosspath, shrapnel can now stun and debuff MOAB-Class Bloons for roughly 66% of the normal duration. Additionally, shrapnel damage is increased from 6 to 12 and pierce increased from 2 to 6, plus extra projectile speed and lifespan.

Cripple MOAB's debuff makes it stand out in Boss Bloon Events (against Tier 2+), Boss Rush, and Freeplay. As this debuff is a flat damage bonus, towers that benefit the most are those that have fast-firing, but low-damage projectiles, such as Overdrives, Sun Avatars, and Shinobi-buffed Bloonjitsus. It should be left on Strong targeting, but First against Dreadbloon to avoid Rock Bloons.

In CHIMPS, Cripple MOAB is a subpar choice. Compared to other towers in the same price range it is lacking as a solo damage tower, and may struggle to beat the BAD.

5-0-2 is the better crosspath for Cripple MOAB in CHIMPS and against most Bosses. This crosspath can achieve full debuff uptime against BADs and Bosses with either Jungle Drums or Berserker Brew. 5-2-0 is preferred against Phayze (which demands innate Camo detection) and in Freeplay (in which the debuff is by far its most important effect, and 5-2-0's group debuff is preferable to 5-0-2's single-target).
