Cripple MOAB is the Sniper Monkey's path 1 tier 5 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It increases the damage of Sniper Monkey's bullets from 30 to 280, and grants bullets an area effect that deals 28 damage to up to 10 Bloons near the impact location (up to a distance of 8 units).

This upgrade increases the amount of time MOAB-Class Bloons are stunned on hit. It also allows Cripple MOAB's main bullets to apply a cripple debuff to MOAB-class bloons, which makes them take +5 damage from all damage sources.

The area damage neither stuns nor cripples any Bloons and cannot hit Camo Bloons unless Camo detection is granted.

With the Shrapnel Shot crosspath, shrapnel can now stun and debuff MOAB-Class Bloons for roughly 66% of the normal duration. Additionally shrapnel damage is increased from 6 to 12 and pierce increased from 2 to 3.

This tower felt like it’s strength too heavily required the xx2 upgrade, and that this harmed crosspath choices. So we increased the base attack rate while nerfing the increase from these upgrades. This is a slight overall buff

Trading off rate of fire for shrapnel crosspath doesn’t work well for Maim MOAB as it’s all about being a stall tower, so instead of focussing on a damage increase here the shrapnel will now apply the benefits of the sniper’s stun & debuff to turn this crosspath choice into a question of preference in grouping vs single target.

While there is some level of strategic placement to the 420 crosspath, Maim MOAB has high effectiveness for unlimited range slowing without any necessary spam use so is seeing a small price increase with a larger reduction on the T5 cost.

This will allow Cripple MOAB to take out regular MOAB layers in one shot until round 100; for such a slow attacking single target tower we feel this will help top path flex, even if mostly for show.

Even with the high damage per shot, Cripple MOAB still has low value outside of debuff capability, we feel that these shots pack enough of a punch now that they should do a little collateral damage - so lets do it! (we’ve also increased shrapnel pierce at this tier to not tip crosspath balance too far to one side).

Cripple MOAB excels at debuffing single blimps from any range, given enough Line of Sight, allowing towers to maximize damage against single targets, hence standing out the most in Boss Bloon Events and Boss Rush. Setting on Strong is often the best to affect the strongest blimp, unless against Dreadbloon where First is necessary to avoid Rock Bloons.

As its blimp debuff is a flat damage bonus, towers that benefit the most from the crippled debuff are those which shoot lots of low-damage projectiles, such as Overdrives, Sun Avatars, and Shinobi-buffed Bloonjitsus.

Path 2 crosspath is better for group damage, as the shrapnel can stun and cripple many MOABs in one attack, while Path 3 crosspath is better for single target damage. Path 2 also grants camo detection, allowing this tower to hit, stun and cripple DDTs, and reliably affect Phayze.

Cripple MOAB is great for late-game rounds or high difficulty boss tiers, as the debuff will help any other damage-dealing towers, plus grant some extra damage. A tower with similar effects is the Glue Storm, which is significantly cheaper but gives a less powerful debuff of only +2 damage. In these cases where single target damage is preferred, Path 3 crosspath should be bought, alongside a Monkey Village with the Jungle Drums upgrade for almost full debuff uptime on bosses and BADs.
