 Converts the Dart Monkey into a slower attacking Spike-o-pult that hurls large spiked balls. Each ball can pop lots of Bloons and rebounds off obstacles.

Spike-o-pult is the Dart Monkey's path 1 tier 3 upgrade in Bloons TD 6. It replaces the Dart Monkey's darts with a catapult that launches spiked balls, which deal 2 damage, can pop up to 18 Bloons a shot, can pop frozen Bloons, and has increased projectile size (2 to 5) and lifetime (0.25s to 1s), but reduces attack speed by ~17.4% and halves its base projectile speed (from 300 to 150). Additionally, Spike-o-pult gains 4.8 range (15% more range compared to base dart monkey). The spiked balls are able to rebound off obstacles to rehit Bloons for even more damage.

Strategy

Spike-o-pult is best used on maps with many obstacles, such as Cornfield, where its balls can bounce off walls repeatedly and it is an excellent early-game tower. Spike-o-pult is also an excellent tower for Race Events due to its cheap cost and high pierce and damage. When playing on maps with few obstacles outside of races, Spike-o-pult falls behind other early-game options.
3-2-0 is almost always the better crosspath as extra attack speed improves performance in Race Events. 3-0-2 is generally not recommended but is useful for niche placements on Dark Dungeons and Ravine.
