While the higher tiers are quite good, Bionic Boomerang does not feel like a strong stepping ston,[sic] and 052 is still mostly considered an inferior crosspath due to base tower damage already being high, so Bionic’s ability increase to damage has been increased further. MOAB Domination’s MOAB damage has been increased to give it a little more power than just stalling & finally we’re[sic] tweaked up some of the numbers on Boomerang Paragon’s damage to even out some parts of it that were not contributing effectively

Separately, we noticed the Glaive Dominus press knockback’s actual explosion was only dealing a fraction of the damage of any other part on this upgrade, this combined with it pushing targets out of the tower’s radius made it somewhat stally so we juiced up the power of this explosion significantly.

To buff Glaive Lords middle crosspath as a choice & utilize more of an attack that is mostly rendered useless by this tier, the base damage of the thrown ricochet attack has been increased. Bionic Boomerang’s price has been lowered to make this upgrade slightly more approachable, but Turbo Charge’s price increased as we’re ok with the higher tiers on this path. Finally MOAB Dom’s price has been reduced a little, while this upgrade mostly fits as an early freeplay support/carry this price buff will make it more affordable before then and slightly benefit saveup for the paragon.

In many situations, especially moving into the deeper lategame, T4 MOAR Glaives didn’t quite feel like enough of a step up over the T3; leading on into the high ceramic cleanup of the T5 we have decided to introduce that ceramic bonus earlier at T4 along with allowing Glaives to overcome their long-standing weakness of being consumed by nearby blockers at T4 with MOAR Glaives ignoring all blocking objects completely. In efforts to cut down on unnecessarily high pierce for more reliable base stats Glaive Lord is having its excessive orbit pierce converted into high base ceramic damage bonus on the orbit & an added bonus to the main attack as well. When the Dart & Boomerang paragons were first introduced the more expensive T5 upgrades were not taken into account for balance as much as the raw paragon upgrade cost, in addition to this we have for a long time taken a no-MK approach to general game balance, however paragons have proven that they should follow the opposite of this ideal and be balanced around a max MK assumed approach, due to MK balance the Dart Paragon gains an incredible degree bonus, so we would like to counterbalance some of that advantage in the base Boomerang design by reducing the price greatly.

Boomerang’s Ricochet buildup into T4 feels rough compared to many other options that exist nowadays, ignoring obstacles worked out as a strong fix for the T4 so we want to bring that down to the T3 as well along with some other general tweaks to bridge this gap. Glaive lord is too expensive for so low a single target tower so this is going down. We wanted to include a take on the Boomerang paragon’s range buff improving so much to apply to other primaries along with the buff synergy in the last update, but time didn’t quite allow for it.

Long Range Rangs is increasing its benefit to be more meaningful of a crosspath choice for the range rather than purely the Red Hot Rangs. Permacharge as a very good T5 doesn’t feel like it needs to have a cooldown buff over the T3 given how small this benefit is. As mentioned above on the Dart Monkey, these Paragons are having their prices swapped around and Boomerang Paragon’s Orbit attack is having the fortification bonus damage removed as this number was so small it added no value to the tower anyway.

A few buffs for the Boomerang Paragon ended up being split up and spread out over a few updates, which resulted in repeated buffs which didn’t seem so necessary after the first, given the fairly high power level it had in v38, as well as suffering less from the bug fix than the Dart Monkey, it felt like it needed more general nerfs to justify any price reduction.

Glaives are heavily focused grouped cleanup with low damage but high target count, however this scales poorly into MOABs & lategame so we’re reworking Ricochet to a much cheaper but weaker starting cleanup with MOAR staying a significant upgrade over this. As Glaive Lord is a more heavily concentrated version of the previous tiers we are increasing its bounce distance to a map wide ricochet and increasing the orbital attack consistency.

Boomerang base price is being slightly reduced, already a decent start in many cases though this seemed enough to make slight game start changes and price it differently to other towers. The main attack for MOAB Domination has been scaled up as overall it is a good upgrade but the pierce on this main attack was previously unchanged from the T3. Glaive Lord’s main thrown attacks will now be able to bounce back again and hit the same target multiple times, this can be a very powerful effect so there is a cooldown on how frequently any single Bloon can be re-targeted.

The MOAB Press top crosspath is the ‘better’ crosspath for most cases due to having more than double the pierce as well as a stronger knockback amount on a tower that most effectively uses high pierce, as this is one of the better support towers in the game we are reducing that superior crosspath without nerfing the lesser one to even this more.

With Glaive Lord being the big winner of recent balance, there is a price gap among towers that fill a similar gameplay role so instead of taking away too much power we’re pushing its price up slightly to fit into that gap. We were unhappy with the recent MOAB Press nerf, so this is being undone for further review. Boomerang paragon use has dropped in use recently so we are taking the opportunity to lower its price.

Bionic Boomerang is getting a rebalance improving baseline power outside of ability activation while maintaining roughly the same power when ability is activated. MOAB Press continues to act as a very powerful scaling MOAB Stall option, slightly increased cost will add up more when building these in groups.

Boomerang Paragon is being rebalanced around a higher price point, and as a part of this change is gaining its own ability Overcharge. Upon activation this immediately grants itself multiple stacks of Overcharge buff which each increase the tower’s attack speed but these stacks rapidly deplete over time one by one until expired.

Ricochet struggles to find targets to bounce to due to its low range and projectile speed, this was a balancing factor for the upgrade’s low cost however we’ve decided to shift toward higher reliability in exchange for lower pierce. Since Boomerang Paragon’s new ability was ‘capping’ well before degree 100 we have adjusted the ability to be refreshable.
