While Icicles is quite fun for midgame cleanup, we acknowledge points raised on Cryo Cannon trading off it’s freeze prowess too quickly when the smaller freeze area even with such a fast rate increase still overall makes it struggle to slow as effectively. To counter this a little we have doubled the freeze radius of Cryo Cannon, but also increased damage of both the Ice Balls & Icicles to highlight more the intention of this path swapping to a damage hybrid earlier. — Update notes
Ice Monkey power is currently too bottom heavy and mid-to-higher tiers are neglected, so some tweaks to mid-tier upgrades have been made. — Update notes
By buffing Snowstorm to have the same cooldown as Absolute Zero we unintentionally ruined a certain style of player-made challenge based on Absolute Zero timing. We have reworked the buff from v24 in order to keep the same freeze uptime but allow this type of challenge to be possible once again. — Update notes
Snowstorm’s duration has been improved to give it more bang for its buck as an alternate option to Ninja’s Bloon Sabotage, and Absolute Zero’s price has been reduced to bring it more within reach for a support upgrade. — Update notes
Embrittlement being a ‘camo reveal’ has not been viable due to the price, so T2 Metal Freeze has been granted camo detection to allow this tower to somewhat hold off camos while it saves up to become a reveal. Additionally Embrittlement will now be able to target and debuff MOAB Bloons for the smaller damage bonus without needing to be upgraded to T5. Additionally some smaller price nerfs have been made along the lower tiers of bottom path as each of these upgrades has been standing out a little much. — Update notes
Cryo Cannon has pulled far ahead of similar cheap Bloon control options, while leading into the also quite cheap Icicles which for most of the game offers more Bloon shredding support for cheaper than those other options. — Update notes
Ice monkey Enhanced Freeze is too good at low tiers, allowing full stunlock of ceramics for very cheap, as the fire rate increase alone of this Enhanced Freeze is a powerful addition most of the increased freeze duration has been moved up as it makes more sense to have duration with the currently less desirable T2 Deep Freeze. Permafrost was previously reduced to a lower price than we’d like to try increase desirability of this crosspath, but as the reworks to metal freeze have had more success there in pulling this path ahead we want to add a little back on here. Cryo Cannon has now been overperforming compared to any towers that perform similar roles with either of these crosspaths so is also seeing a general reduction. — Update notes
Arctic Wind hardly gets used for its actual basic intended purpose, which would be cool to see used for more than just causing ice platform bug reports. — Update notes
Ice Monkey base pierce is too high, very easily countering large numbers of strong Bloons early, mid or late in the game for small investment, leading to very low tiers of ice monkey (below t3) being highly effective spam options over upgrading your ice. We are reworking some of this base pierce to require crosspath investment and buffing the damage Ice 3xx Ice Shards to compensate for some of its reduced pierce. — Update notes
Arctic wind felt extremely overbuffed with the slowing field going from 40 to 50%, but we like seeing the use on it go up so we want to meet halfway on that & keep the higher slow at T5. While we like the added pierce value on x2x crosspathing, the drop of pierce on xx3 feels too large now on a tower that already had quite good crosspath balance, so we want to try out removing the pierce downgrade entirely here. — Update notes
Lowest tiers of ice monkey are far too effective for their cost against ceramics, with this scaling well all the way to round 100, we feel like ice duration against ceramics needs to be reduced to counter this but for now this reduction will only apply until T3. — Update notes
We’re happier with more recent freeze changes succeeding in some of the intentions of older nerfs, given the base tower value in races being hit far more than intended we’re going back over the pierce for Ice Monkey base & middle crosspath. Snowstorm continues to outshine any similar supportive options while being generally cheaper & more versatile. — Update notes
We want to try out allowing the Ice Shards sub-projectile to benefit from all sources of damage buff, as currently this path gets nice support use sometimes but can’t do much on its own in the base game - along with this the T5 Ice Shards are also generally being improved. Arctic Wind it feels was heavily underrated before it’s large slow aura increase, with so many players now working out how good it is and how much better an upgrade it leads into than any similar options we feel this aura needs to be reduced again although it will remain the same at T5. — Update notes
Embrittlement is cheap and balanced by its limited range and rate making it difficult to apply to very many targets with reliable frequency, however Super Brittle is far more expensive but still faces these same struggles. Feels fair for the cost to increase its attack rate further. — Update notes
Description changed ― "Razor sharp shards fly out when Frozen Bloons pop." → "Removes Camo and Regrow properties when damaging Bloons. Razor sharp shards fly out when Frozen Bloons pop."
Description changed ― "Can hit MOAB-class Bloons. All hit Bloons become brittle, take extra damage while frozen, and lose Camo properties." → "Can hit MOAB-class Bloons. All hit Bloons become brittle, taking extra damage while frozen, and losing Lead immunity for a short time."
“
Embrittlement had too much going on at T4 without much reason to use T3, as Ice Shards alone is already similarly priced to other Camo removal options and with the Primary category lacking in Camo detection, we have split Embrittlement up and introduced Camo removal at T3 so we can leave Embrittlement to focus entirely on being a damage support upgrade. While we’re still considering future plans here, increasing layers frozen from 5 > 8 at least means that Absolute Zero’s freeze can now last through all standard Bloon layers from a single application. As similar choices are currently leveling out with higher power Cryo Cannon feels like it deserves to have some power brought back. — Update notes
A long time coming - Absolute Zero will finally be able to slow MOAB-Class Bloons within its radius, and additionally the main attack while it can’t initiate attacks without Bloons in radius will freeze non MOAB-Class Bloons over the entire screen for a short time! Nudging bottom path Ice Monkey to keep up with similarly priced support options, and Icicles especially doesn't feel versatile enough, which limits chances to go down this path so it is gaining the attack rate increase from the T5. — Update notes
Cryo Cannon’s damage has lowered to more effectively stall, while Icicles damage stays the same and increases for the Icicle projectiles to help it be a stronger damage focus upgrade. Arctic Wind’s price is shifting up into Snowstorm to allow for cheaper utility use. — Update notes
Someone’s been teaching the Ice Monkey some new tricks because now they can be placed on either Land or Water! However you’ll still need Arctic Wind to support other towers on water. Ice Monkey value is limited at low levels where quick & spaced Bloons are the main trouble, so the cost for many low tier upgrades is moving up to higher tiers instead. Absolute Zero is also reducing in price as we are enjoying its current functionality but it's still a large investment for a heavily support focus upgrade — Update notes

Can't freeze White, Zebra or Lead Bloons. → Pops and freezes nearby Bloons for a short time. Frozen Bloons are immune to sharp damage. Can't freeze White, Zebra or Lead Bloons. Can be placed on land and water.
Well it seems we made Absolute Zero kinda good finally… With the powerful synergies that have now come out here, along with Silas arriving this update bringing even more Ice Monkey synergies, we are reducing some of the constancy here. — Update notes
Main attack global freeze: duration reduced ― 0.75s → 0.6s
Description changed ― Ability is so cold it freezes all regular Bloons for longer, including White, Zebra, and Camo, slows MOAB-class longer, and greatly increases the attack speed of all Ice Monkeys for the duration. → Each attack freezes all Bloons everywhere for a short time. Snowstorm freezes all Bloon types for even longer while greatly increasing attack speed of all Ice Monkeys for the duration.
Super Brittle’s never stood out on its own which was fine for a tower whose job was making other things better, but recently after the addition of Silas we've started to feel its value is really too niche even for a support piece, so we’re cranking the numbers so it can actually break a few things itself. Absolute Zero on the other hand has enjoyed being busted lately, and thanks to a crosspathing bug fix also included this update will be getting even better, since it’s currently freezing everything imaginable we’re counter-balancing that with a nerf of increased damage and higher cost. — Update notes
Main attack: Now deals +5 bonus damage to Ceramic Bloons
Ice shards: Damage increased ― 5 → 10
Description changed ― "Bloons take huge damage while frozen including MOAB-Class Bloons." → "Bloons take huge damage while frozen, while Ice Shards rip through Ceramic Bloons like paper!"
Ice Monkey T5’s are very strong right now, Embrittlement in particular stands out as a problem with its high damage so this is being reduced, however the range of its shards is being increased to retain the higher cool factor of buying this upgrade. Absolute Zero is also seeing a price increase as another very powerful Ice right now. We’re also increasing the soluopopatsalB counter potential here on middle and bottom paths. Ice Monkey’s paragon has caused a big stir with the powerful mechanics it brings to the table; uptime of its passive debuffs is being lowered as currently it maxes uptime too easily without degree investment and Embrittlement debuffs will no longer be stackable - only the highest tier Embrittlement debuff will take priority. Finally players responded with a lot of love for what Ice Paragon brings but also big annoyances with timing; for QoL we have changed the skull freeze from a debuff that has to be applied to a boss to be a simple active duration, this means is instead timing 1 exact frame for the debuff to be applied the effect will just be active for a duration and should work so long as a boss skull is triggered any time within that active duration. — Update notes
Embrittlement debuff: No longer stacks Embrittlement and Super Brittle and will override them instead
Embrittlement debuff: No longer applies to the Shatter damage type
Eclipse of Fimbulwinter: The time window to perform a skull skip on a Boss Bloon is increased ― 5s → 20s
Note: This window begins 5s seconds after the ability is activated (when the skulls in the health bar are frozen) and will last until the end of the ability (when the lighting returns to normal)
Much player concern has been voiced on Icicles performance. Since this issue stems from the projectile count we’re experimenting with fewer icicles that pack a stronger punch, making each individual projectile much stronger. — Update notes
